Today, the “TurkmenTextile Expo–2026” International Exhibition and Trade Fair opened at the country's Chamber of Commerce and Industry. This large-scale event provides an opportunity to showcase the potential and achievements of this important sector of the national economy, present new products, and expand mutually beneficial business ties with foreign partners.

In the Era of the Revival of the New Epoch of the Powerful State, large-scale transformations are being implemented in the textile industry of the Motherland, one of the key sectors of the national economy. As a result of the comprehensive reform policy initiated by the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Hero-Arkadag, and now successfully carried forward under the wise leadership of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, the industry’s material and technical base is being continuously modernized and advanced methods are being introduced. This has created a solid foundation for domestic textile enterprises producing high-quality, environmentally friendly products that are in demand on world markets.

Turkmenistan’s favorable soil and climatic conditions provide broad opportunities for the industrial-scale processing of medium- and fine-fiber cotton, which enjoys strong demand abroad. The increase in state procurement prices for cotton, the strategic raw material of the industry, along with the creation of favorable conditions for agricultural producers, contributes to the further expansion of both the range and volume of textile production.

…In the morning, an opening ceremony for the international exhibition and trade fair was held in the square in front of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan. The event was attended by the Chairperson of the Mejlis, members of the Government, heads and representatives of ministries and agencies, diplomatic missions and international organizations accredited in the country, public organizations, and media representatives.

The participants listened with great attention to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov’s welcoming address to the participants of the “TurkmenTextile Expo–2026” International Exhibition and Trade Fair.

As noted in the President’s message, the current focus of textile industry development is on combining national heritage, noble traditions and customs, and the artistic principles of the Turkmen people with modern innovative technologies. This concept makes it possible to preserve the national identity of textile products, reveal their artistic value more deeply, and enhance their competitiveness in international markets. The President expressed confidence that the successful holding of “TurkmenTextile Expo–2026” International Exhibition and Trade Fair would make a significant contribution to the further development of the domestic textile industry and the strengthening of international cooperation.

Visitors then toured the exhibition displays. Around 110 exhibitors are participating in the event. These include enterprises of the Ministry of Textile Industry, members of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs operating in the sector, as well as foreign companies that manufacture and supply specialized equipment, dyes and chemicals for the textile industry, raw materials, packaging, and production materials.

The achievements of the industry are vividly demonstrated by the Ministry of Textile Industry of Turkmenistan. Since independence, a number of modern textile enterprises equipped with advanced technological equipment have been built in the country. Existing large textile complexes, cotton-spinning and garment factories, cocoon-processing enterprises, and footwear factories produce high-quality products from environmentally friendly raw materials, making a worthy contribution to increasing the export potential of the country. Recently, the country’s silkworm breeders successfully fulfilled their contractual obligations by delivering more than 2,100 tons of silkworm cocoons to the state. This demonstrates the positive results of comprehensive reforms aimed at supporting agricultural producers and developing the sector.

Among the domestic enterprises participating in the exhibition, the textile complexes of Ashgabat and Bayramaly are also presenting a wide range of products. National textile enterprises continuously expand their product lines in accordance with seasonal trends and growing consumer demand. In this regard, the attention of visitors was drawn to the summer and autumn clothing collections of the “Nusaý,” “Bedew,” “Gala,” and “Bürgüt” brands. These environmentally friendly products, distinguished by their durability and attractive design, enjoy strong demand among both domestic and foreign consumers. The “Ruhabat” Textile Complex is presenting various types of dyed and undyed cotton fabrics, scarves, and napkins.

The Babadayhan and Kaka textile complexes, equipped with modern machinery, have established the production of high-quality goods that successfully compete with products manufactured in other countries. Products marketed under the “Mäne” and “Jeýtun” brands are particularly notable for their wide assortment. The exhibition also features silk fabrics from the Ashgabat Velvet Factory, men’s and children’s shirts produced by the “Ýeňiş” Sewing Factory, and products from the “Ahal” Sewing Factory and “Bahar” Sewing Factory. In addition, several enterprises are demonstrating their capabilities in yarn production and textile waste recycling. The achievements of our country’s textile industry and its extensive product range are showcased at the exhibition stand of the “Altyn Asyr” Trading Center.

The stands, decorated in a national style, present every stage of the production chain—from manufacturing high-quality yarn from pure raw materials to producing finished cotton and silk products. These goods are capable of competing with foreign counterparts in terms of both quality and design on the global market. The displays include samples of cotton yarn and fabrics, as well as finished garments made from them, such as men’s shirts and various knitted clothing sets for children and adults. They also feature attractive denim collections for sports and leisure, designed in accordance with modern fashion trends.

Members of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan are steadily strengthening their positions across various sectors of the national economy, including the textile industry. Private enterprises such as “Batly Gadam” and “Gök Saraý,” as well as business associations “Beg Ýüpek” and “Altyn Süýüm,” are expanding their product ranges through the processing of cotton yarn used in manufacturing. Turkmen entrepreneurs are actively involved in establishing modern production complexes based not only on natural raw materials but also on the introduction of innovative technologies and advanced expertise.

The carpets produced by the Open Joint-Stock Company “Abadan Haly” are distinguished by their elegance. A number of manufacturers are showcasing a wide range of work uniforms and accessories at the exhibition, while the enterprise “Däp” is presenting modern-style clothing and bags featuring original design solutions.

A special place at the exhibition is devoted to the achievements of domestic entrepreneurs in the production of footwear and leather accessories. Leading enterprises in this field include the economic society “Muhammet-Balkan,” the private enterprise “Röwşen,” and the Gokdepe Leather Factory.

Close cooperation is being carried out with major foreign manufacturers in the modernization of the material and technical base of industry enterprises and the establishment of innovative production facilities based on domestic natural resources. In this context, it should be noted that foreign partners are showing significant interest in cooperation within our country’s promising textile sector. A vivid example of this is the participation in the current exhibition of a number of leading companies from Italy, Türkiye, and China. In addition, companies from the United States, Switzerland, Germany, Pakistan, and India that produce equipment and chemical materials for the textile industry are presenting their cooperation opportunities and seeking to strengthen their positions in Turkmenistan’s rapidly developing market. Products made from cotton, synthetic materials, and blended fibers are of particular interest.

Textile products are not limited to attractive clothing; they also include decorative elements for homes and workplaces. Turkmen entrepreneurs engaged in the production of home textile products and carpets are likewise taking an active part in the exhibition and trade fair.

Not only leading textile manufacturers and suppliers but also world-renowned designers have gathered in the Turkmen capital.

As part of the exhibition and trade fair, fashion shows featuring collections by Turkmen and international designers were held, harmoniously combining national traditions with modern trends. Great interest among spectators was generated by the collections presented by the Ashgabat Fashion House under the Ministry of Textile Industry, as well as by world-famous fashion houses and designers from France, Morocco, Oman, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, and Uzbekistan. It should also be noted that representatives of leading media outlets specializing in fashion and textile industry coverage are participating in the international exhibition and trade fair, demonstrating the high status of the event.

Notably, garments created by Turkmen designers and fashion houses using traditional embroidery attract particular attention from foreign guests. Every item adorned with national ornaments and embroidery is a unique work of art, created through the dedication and talent of Turkmen craftswomen. The inclusion of Turkmen embroidery art in UNESCO’s Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity testifies to the worldwide recognition of the cultural heritage of the Turkmen people, whose roots stretch back to ancient times. Today, this art is being further enriched by local designers who create clothing in line with contemporary fashion trends.

The strong demand for textile and garment products on the global market is closely linked to manufacturers’ ability to rapidly implement new technologies while keeping pace with the latest fashion trends. In this regard, the exhibition and trade fair program includes a series of fashion shows. Fashion presentations by internationally renowned designers from Italy, France, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Singapore, India, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan will become a memorable event for residents and visitors of the capital alike. The regular organization of such international events clearly demonstrates that Ashgabat, which has been included in UNESCO Creative Cities Network in the category of Design, is strengthening its position as a regional center of culture, art, and beauty.

Clothing decorated with exquisite traditional embroidery and designed by the Ashgabat Fashion House, as well as the fashion houses “Goç Ýigit,” “Gowher Guverne,” “Emine Bridal,” and “Gülýaka Lybaslary” in accordance with the latest fashion trends, leaves no one indifferent. While developing national traditions, domestic designers work closely with their foreign counterparts in this field.

The opportunities created at the exhibition for the promotion and sale of high-quality textile products have become one of its key features. The aim of the international event is to combine meaningful activities that facilitate the exchange of experience and enhance knowledge of modern fashion trends. As part of the exhibition and trade fair, master classes by domestic and international designers will introduce industry professionals and the general public to both traditional and innovative approaches in decoration, clothing production for adults and children, and the creation of textile toys.

During bilateral meetings between heads of relevant national institutions and foreign business representatives, opportunities for cooperation were discussed with a view to further strengthening the material and technical base of the textile industry and ensuring its supply with the necessary resources.

The exhibition currently taking place in Ashgabat serves not only as a platform for economic and business interests but also as a venue for the mutual enrichment of cultures and creative traditions. These goals are further supported by seminars planned within the framework of the exhibition and trade fair, including “Sustainable Development and Quality Certification in the Textile Industry” and “Modern Trends in the Development of the Textile Industry and the Integration of Cultural Heritage with New Approaches.”

The “TurkmenTextile Expo–2026” International Exhibition and Trade Fair will conclude its work on June 6.
