Today, the 3rd International Competition “International Relations: Culture of Peaceful Dialogue” opened at the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. This intellectual competition clearly reflects the fact that, thanks to the consistent efforts of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Hero-Arkadag, our country has become a center for high-level meetings, international forums, and scientific and practical conferences. This year’s competition joins the series of significant events of the year “Independent Neutral Turkmenistan – Homeland of Purposeful Winged Steeds”.

Currently, one of the key pillars of the foreign policy strategy pursued by the President is the practical implementation of a policy of positive neutrality. In this context, Turkmenistan is implementing a range of measures to actively promote the principles of peace and neutrality. Particular attention is paid to resolving international issues through political and diplomatic means.

An exhibition featuring unique examples of decorative and applied art, as well as materials highlighting the country’s foreign policy priorities was set up in the foyer of the institute’s main building. Before the competition began, participants were introduced to the exhibition.

Then the 3rd International Competition “International Relations: The Culture of Peaceful Dialogue” began. The creative competition, organized by the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, brought together participants from nine countries: the Russian Federation, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Georgia, and the People’s Republic of China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, and the Islamic Republic of Iran. More than 40 international representatives from 13 leading universities registered for the competition. Also participating are 117 talented students from higher education institutions of Turkmenistan. This broad range of participants demonstrates the high relevance of the competition’s theme, which addresses key contemporary issues.

Independent and neutral Turkmenistan consistently implements a peace-loving foreign policy aimed at promoting universal well-being. It is gratifying to note that, at our country’s initiative, important resolutions are adopted and numerous international events are regularly held. Turkmenistan places great emphasis on the development of science and education in the areas of peace and neutrality, as well as the training of highly qualified diplomatic personnel.

Participants of the prestigious international competition emphasized the key role of international efforts to strengthen peace and stability in the current context. Among the pressing tasks identified was the use of the potential, political and diplomatic mechanisms and authority of the United Nations in the global economic system to develop mutually acceptable solutions and ensure global peace.

As noted, Turkmenistan attaches great importance to developing cooperation in such areas as politics, economics, energy, food security, and the environment. The country’s foreign policy, based on its status of permanent Neutrality, is aimed primarily at strengthening global peace and sustainable development.
