In the Turkmen capital, it was opened Cultural Week of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Turkmenistan. The campaign was organized by the Cultural Center of IRI Embassy in Ashgabat and Ministry of Culture of our country. On a delegation of the Islamic Republic of Iran, heads and specialists of establishments of culture, creative collectives, masters of crafts arrived in Turkmenistan. Prospects for cooperation were discussed during the reception of the IRI official delegation in the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan. Opening of the Week of Iranian Culture gathered representatives of the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan and its agencies, the public, mass media, diplomatic missions accredited to Ashgabat, workers of culture and art, teachers and students of creative universities in the Mukams’ Palace of State Cultural Center. The head of the Organization of Culture and Islamic Relations, member of the Supreme Council for Culture of IRI Abuzar Ebrahimi Torkaman and Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Iran to our country Seyed Mohammad Ahmadi underlined the mutual interest in the cultural heritage of both peoples with a long-standing history of good neighborly relations. It was noted that the Cultural Week would contribute to the mutual enrichment of Turkmen and Iranian peoples’ cultures. The concert program includes performances by folk ensemble “Araz” from Tabriz, “Navaie Ilya” from Shiraz. Iranian artists presented folk tunes and songs, improvisations on themes of classical destans, lyrical melodies on poems of the Eastern poets as well as modern music-song works. Spectators welcomed with warmth the performance by the children group ensemble “Araz”. In the framework of the Cultural Week of Islamic Republic of Iran, an Exhibition Hall of the State Academy of Arts will host an exhibition of Applied and Decorative Arts of the friendly country, which will feature miniatures illustrating works of Persian poetry classics, filigree crafts from wood, ceramics, sample copies of calligraphy, national costume, hammered ironwork and Peking enamel, tapestries. At the State Academy of Arts, it is planned a meeting of the representatives of the Applied and Decorative Arts of the two countries. In the “Ashgabat” Cinema Center, there will be shown the works of Iranian moviemakers, feature films, shot in recent years in different genres. A performance by Iranian folk and song-music collectives will take place in the “Watan” Cinema Center, and a joint concert of children’s creative collectives of the two countries – in the Turkmen State Puppet Theater. The Cultural Week will end in the “Watan” Cinema-Concert Center by a joint concert of friendship. Guests will also get acquainted with historic-cultural monuments, museums’ expositions and attractions of the Turkmen capital.
