Today, the Holiday of the Turkmen Alabay was widely marked in the country. Major festive events on the occasion of this significant holiday took place on the outdoor arena of the Ashgabat equestrian sports complex, in which the outcome of the international competition «Ýylyň türkmen edermen alabaýy» and creative competition in artistic embodiment of the image of the Turkmen Alabay in works of fine art, decorative and applied arts, print works, on photos and TV channels.

The Turkmen Alabay – the national pride and integral part of the historical and cultural heritage of our people. Thanks to noble undertakings of Hero-Arkadag and indefatigable efforts of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, a large-scale work is carried out at the state level to breed Alabays, to preserve purity of the breed and study the pedigree features on a scientific basis. In the given context, creation of the International Association «Türkmen alabaý itleri» gave a new impulse for this activity. Creation of profile complexes and centres equipped with modern technologies in regions of the country and the capital promotes deeper scientific researches in the field of preservation and improvement of purity of the breed of Turkmen Alabays. A special significance is given to international cooperation with a view of popularisation of Turkmen Alabays in the world. The holiday of the Turkmen Alabay is marked annually with great pomp and a great number of foreign specialists take part in events on that occasion.

In research and popularisation of the history of the Turkmen Alabay, the book by Hero-Arkadag «Türkmen alabaýy» has a great significance. This work is not only a valuable guidebook for dog breeders, but also a key source containing the extensive information on the origin of Alabay, its historical and cultural phenomenon and role in the life of Turkmen people. In the book, one can find historical and literary data, results of archaeological researches. It also provides in-detail data of qualities of the Alabay as guard, defender and loyal friend, activity of the International Association «Türkmen alabaý itleri» and the state policy aimed at preservation and perfection of purity of the Alabay breed. The edition of the book in not only the Turkmen language, but also translation into Russian and English languages gives an opportunity for the world community to familiarise more deeply with the Turkmen Alabay, such qualities, as fidelity, bravery and nobleness.

… From early morning, the festive atmosphere reigns in the Ashgabat equestrian sports complex. Along the track leading to the outdoor arena of the complex, the exhibition with participation of Ashgabat and Arkadag cities, five velayats of the country, in which works of national decorative and applied arts, and fine arts, national crafts, photos, print works, carpets and sculptures are displayed, is held. The exhibition shows a rich cultural heritage and creative potential of Turkmen people. And certainly, the image of the Turkmen Alabay takes a special place in fine arts works.

In the course of centuries, our ancestors have preserved purity of the breed of Turkmen Alabays. The breed, which has preserved its original form up to the present day, today is a valuable property of culture of the entire humanity and is recognised as one of the best thoroughbred dogs in the world. The exhibits presented at the exhibition creatively transfer the shape, noble qualities and role of Alabay dogs in the life of our people.

As is marked in the message of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov to dog breeders, connoisseurs of Turkmen Alabays and people of independent neutral Turkmenistan on the occasion of the Holiday of the Turkmen Alabay, today the Turkmen Alabay, which has kept its original purity, has become one of the symbols of concepts of beauty, material and cultural wealth of our people. Turkmen people, who were engaged in cultivation of thoroughbred racers, have created an exemplary system of cultivation of thoroughbred dogs. Our ancestors brought up in Alabays such qualities, as fidelity to their owner, vigilance, ingenuity and boldness. The thoroughbred Alabay – a remarkable contribution of ancient Turkmen people to world culture. Among participants of the present celebration - members of the Government, heads of the Mejlis, ministries and departments, public organisations, diplomatic representative offices and international organisations accredited in our country as well as members of the International Association «Türkmen alabaý itleri», cynologists, dog breeders, profile experts, representatives of mass-media.

In the territory of the complex, the song and music performance of workers of art and culture of our country was organised.

The outcome of the international competition «Ýylyň türkmen edermen alabaýy» and the creative show devoted to Turkmen Alabays became one of the highlights of the celebration in honour of loyal friends of human. 10 best Alabays from different regions of the country, which were selected at preliminary stages of the competition, were displayed on the observation area. For the jury panel and spectators names of Alabay dogs, their age, pedigree and the data of their owners are announced.

Alabay dogs which have participated in the competition, showed to spectators the skills, in which their owners trained them. Numerous admirers of this unique breed of dog could estimate not only their training, but also an amazing exterior. Before four-footed contestants specific tasks, including overcoming of the obstacle course were put. Speed and accuracy are considered in its overcoming. This entertainment event provided an opportunity to add special colours to the holiday.

The Time has come to sum up and to declare the decision of the jury panel. The floor is given to the chairman of the jury panel- Hero of Turkmenistan Saragt Babayev who on behalf of the gathered expressed sincere gratitude to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, as well as National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov for their large scale activity to develop the art of dog breeding in the country and assistance in global popularisation of Alabays, which are an integral component of the historical and cultural heritage of our people.

So, the title «Ýylyň türkmen edermen alabaýy» went to the Turkmen Alabay with the nickname Vepaly belonging to the Ministry of Defence of Turkmenistan. It was brought up and trained for the competition by honoured cynologist of Turkmenistan O.Saparov. The main prize of the President of Turkmenistan - keys to car "Toyota Camry" as well as a special medal, a challenge cup and the diploma were handed to the winner of the international competition.

The dog breeder expressed deep gratitude to the President of the country for the high award, created ample opportunities for preservation of purity of the Alabay breed, assured that Turkmen masters will further continue work in this area, and wished the head of the state sound health and great successes in his activity.

Then, names of winners of the creative competition in artistic embodiment of the image of the Turkmen Alabay in works of fine, decorative and applied arts, print media, on photos, TV channels, declared among artists, sculptors, carpet makers, photographers, workers of publishing house, television cameramen were declared. Along with skilled teachers, the youth who just started their work in creativity, also participated in the competition. The best works were chosen according to nominations: the best carpet with the image of the Turkmen Alabay; the best artistic image of the Turkmen Alabay; the best sculpture of the Turkmen Alabay; the best-printed product with the image of the Turkmen Alabay; the best television story revealing fearlessness of the Turkmen Alabay.

Corresponding certificates and costly presents were handed to the following winners on behalf of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov: A.Orazgulyeva – carpet maker of  carpet making enterprise of Ashgabat city of the State Association «Türkmenhaly» - for the best carpet with the image of the Turkmen Alabay «Watana gorag, ynsana dost sen edermen türkmen alabaýy»; Y.Allanazarov - the teacher of the chair of decorative and applied arts of the State Fine Art Academy of Turkmenistan - for the best painting «Wepaly dost»; E.Gullyev – 5th year student of the chair of sculpture of the State Fine Art Academy - for the best sculpture «Türkmen alabaýy»; C.Kemenova – 5th year student of the chair of design of the State Fine Art Academy - for publishing work «Senenama 2025»; M.Charyev - chief of the department of the Press Centre of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Turkmenistan - for a video clip «Alabaýyň gaýduwsyzlygy».

Expressing sincere gratitude to the President of Turkmenistan for appreciation of their activity, winners of the competition assured that they would make their best for augmentation of the international glory of the Turkmen Alabay, embodying their image in their creativity.

Solemn events on the occasion of the Holiday of the Turkmen Alabay were held today in all cities and villages of the country.
