On October 10, on the occasion of Healthcare and Medical Industry Workers’ Day in Turkmenistan, foundation laying ceremonies were held for modern medical facilities that will expand the country’s multidisciplinary healthcare infrastructure.

These include a 500-bed Multidisciplinary Hospital in Ashgabat, a 300-bed Multidisciplinary Hospital in Tejen of Tejen etrap of Ahal velayat, and a 400-bed Maternal and Child Health Center in Dashoguz of Dashoguz Velayat.

Thanks to the initiatives of Hero-Arkadag and under the wise leadership of the President, ensuring a prosperous and happy life for our people has been identified as a priority area of state policy. Therefore, the decision to build modern medical facilities is a clear indication of the enormous attention paid to improving the health of the people.

As is known, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov recently conducted a working tour of the capital, during which he reviewed healthcare facilities planned for construction in Ashgabat and the country’s velayats. The head of state emphasized the importance of ensuring high-quality construction work and the timely commissioning of these facilities. He also gave specific instructions on supplying healthcare facilities with modern equipment based on cutting-edge scientific advances, including the use of digital systems.

As a result of the successful implementation of the “Saglyk” State Program, developed under the leadership of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov at the initiative of the National Leader of the Turkmen People and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty, Hero-Arkadag, the national healthcare system is consistently improving. Effective steps are being taken to strengthen the sector’s material and technical infrastructure, train highly qualified specialists, intensify preventive measures, more deeply integrate healthy lifestyle principles, and widely promote physical education and sports.

As part of this large-scale effort, significant attention is being paid to modernizing the healthcare infrastructure. Modern diagnostic and health centers, hospitals, and sanatoriums meeting international standards are being built across the country, along with facilities producing pharmaceuticals and medical products from local raw materials.

An initiative to create a medical cluster in Arkadag city is also underway. This is a clear example of how the country’s healthcare infrastructure is being strengthened to a modern level, and its capabilities are being developed in line with international standards.

The current start of construction on modern medical facilities is further evidence of the consistent strengthening of the foundations of the national healthcare system.

...From early morning, a festive atmosphere has permeated the southern part of the capital. The Speaker of the Mejlis, members of the Government, heads of ministries and industry agencies, as well as numerous foreign guests and healthcare professionals, gathered here to participate in the groundbreaking ceremony for the 500-bed Ashgabat Multidisciplinary Hospital.

Performances by musical and dance groups added a festive atmosphere to the celebration.

The Chairperson of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan read a congratulatory message from President Serdar Berdimuhamedov to workers in the country’s healthcare and medical industry.

As noted in the head of state’s congratulatory message, modern scientific, clinical, and diagnostic treatment centers, sanatoriums, health centers, and facilities producing medicines from local raw materials, equipped with state-of-the-art equipment, are being built across the country – in the capital, Arkadag city, and in the regions. Thus, we are writing glorious pages in the history of our independent Fatherland. The work being carried out in this area is exemplary and has been recognized by international organizations, including the World Health Organization.

The head of state’s congratulatory message was received with great enthusiasm.

The ceremony’s participants then spoke, emphasizing the special importance our country places on protecting human health, which is the highest value of society and the state. Thanks to the initiatives of Hero-Arkadag and the tireless efforts of Hero Arkadagly Serdar, our country has become one of the countries with an advanced healthcare system in just a few years. Both the medical facilities already commissioned and those currently under construction evidenced to it.

The active introduction of innovative technologies and advanced equipment from world-renowned companies in these institutions, as well as the professional training of Turkmen specialists in the world’s largest medical centers, make it possible to ensure a high level of medical services rendered to the population, the prevention of infectious and non-infectious diseases, accurate diagnosis and treatment, and an increase in the average life expectancy of the country’s population.

Then the main moment of the ceremony came: a special capsule containing a commemorative message was laid in the foundation of the 500-bed Ashgabat Multidisciplinary Hospital. This officially marked the start of construction.

The center will incorporate advanced technologies in modern medicine, enabling it to provide high-quality medical services to the country’s population.

Ceremony participants expressed gratitude to Hero-Arkadag and the President of Turkmenistan for their constant care for the health and well-being of our people.

The laying ceremony for the 300-bed Inter-Etrap Multidisciplinary Hospital was held in Tejen town of the Tejen etrap of the Ahal velayat.

Representatives of local governments, etrap residents, and healthcare workers participated in the ceremony.

Vibrant performances by musical and dance groups added a special touch to the celebration. The performances celebrated the extensive work being carried out to ensure the well-being of the Turkmen people in the new historical era.

During the ceremony, the hyakim of the Ahal velayat spoke and read a Congratulatory Address from President Serdar Berdimuhamedov to healthcare and medical industry workers.

As noted in the Address of the Head of state, 30 years ago, on the initiative and under the leadership of Hero-Arkadag, the “Saglyk” State Program was adopted. In the era of the Revival of the new epoch of the powerful state, in accordance with this document, we continue to radically improve the national healthcare system, its material, technical, and legal framework. The measures being taken are extensive and aimed at improving health and increasing life expectancy for individuals, who are recognized as the highest value of society and the state, developing physical education and sports, and promoting healthy lifestyle principles.

The congratulatory message of the Head of state was received with great attention.

Speakers noted that our country has achieved great success in protecting and strengthening public health and fostering a healthy lifestyle in society.

As emphasized, our beloved Fatherland is actively implementing a state policy aimed at ensuring the sustainable development of the healthcare system and strengthening international cooperation. Protecting public health, increasing life expectancy, and ensuring the comprehensive development of society are identified as key priorities today. After all, human health is not only the country’s greatest asset but also a solid foundation for a bright future for present and future generations.

Protecting and caring for health are the age-old principles of our people. The Basic Law – the Constitution of Turkmenistan – proclaims the individual as the highest value of society and the state. In this regard, our country has accumulated internationally recognized experience in modernizing the national healthcare system, actively developing medicine and the pharmaceutical industry, and promoting a healthy lifestyle.

The potential of the country’s healthcare system has significantly increased thanks to the implementation of the “Saglyk” State Program, developed under the leadership of Hero-Arkadag and serving as the main state document for strengthening the foundation of the healthcare system.

Healthcare workers play a vital role in achieving the goals of this large-scale state program. In this regard, Healthcare and Medical Industry Workers’ Day is celebrated with great enthusiasm in Turkmenistan every year on October 10. The current start of construction on a 300-bed Multidisciplinary Hospital in Tejen was a wonderful holiday gift for healthcare workers and residents of the region.

Then, construction of an inter-etrap 300-bed Multidisciplinary Hospital was launched in Tejen.

This hospital will become one of the country’s key healthcare institutions, rendering high-quality medical services in the areas of diagnosis, treatment, and disease prevention. High-tech equipment from foreign manufacturers installed here, along with the highly professional doctors, will allow for specialized examinations and complex surgical procedures.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, participants expressed confidence that the 300-bed Multidisciplinary Hospital under construction will serve our people for many years to come and will become one of the main centers for protecting a person’s most valuable asset – health. Participants expressed their deep gratitude to the President of Turkmenistan and Hero-Arkadag for the favorable conditions they have created, their support, and the enormous work they are doing to further strengthen the national healthcare system, bringing it up to date and improving it based on advanced global practices.

Celebrations dedicated to Healthcare and Medical Industry Workers’ Day were also held in the administrative center of the Dashoguz velayat, where the groundbreaking ceremony for a 400-bed Maternal and Child Health Center took place.

As is well known, today, thanks to the successful implementation of large-scale reforms in the national healthcare system initiated by Hero-Arkadag, under the leadership of the President, the state attaches great importance to the healthy development, education, and upbringing of the younger generation. In particular, maternal and child health are a key focus of the “Saglyk” State Program – the main state document that enshrines the principles of Turkmenistan’s healthcare policy. Turkmenistan, recognized as the birthplace of happy childhood, places great emphasis on the harmonious development of the younger generation and issues related to their health.

The laying ceremony for the 400-bed Maternal and Child Health Center in Dashoguz is a clear manifestation of the state’s commitment to the well-being and physical health of the younger generation – the bright future of our Motherland.

The ceremony was accompanied by inspiring speeches by cultural and artistic figures.

At the beginning of the ceremony, the hyakim of Dashoguz velayat read an Address from President Serdar Berdimuhamedov to healthcare and medical industry workers.

As noted in the message of the Head of state, the measures implemented in our sovereign country to protect and improve public health have received the full support and recognition of the global community and international organizations, including the World Health Organization and the United Nations Children’s Fund, as clearly demonstrated by the presentation of relevant certificates, awards, and other documents to Turkmenistan. These achievements are the wonderful fruits of the state policy in the field of public health initiated by the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Hero-Arkadag.

The President’s congratulatory message was received with great attention.

As the speakers noted, as a result of the exemplary work carried out under the wise leadership of the President in the era of the Revival of the new epoch of the powerful state, fundamental changes are being carried out in the country’s healthcare system, the level of medical services rendered to the population is improving, and the average life expectancy of people is increasing.

Currently, the National Strategy “Healthy Mother – Healthy Child – Healthy Future” for 2021–2025 serves as the foundation for coordinated healthcare efforts in Turkmenistan. The activities implemented within this strategy have received wide recognition from the global community and leading international organizations, including the United Nations and its agencies – the World Health Organization and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF). Our country actively and effectively collaborates with these organizations in the area of children’s health.

The Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation for Assistance to Children in Need of Guardianship, established in March 2021 at the initiative of Hero-Arkadag, is also conducting significant work in this area.

It has become a good tradition for the Charitable Foundation to provide funds for various surgeries at medical facilities in the capital and the provinces for children in need of care, as well as to cover the costs of treatment and the purchase of appropriate medical equipment for children in orphanages, specialized schools, and boarding schools.

Speakers also proudly noted that the Foundation donated new, modern ambulances, Savina ventilators, and a Dialog+ dialyzer to the pediatric departments of district and city hospitals across the country.

Then, to thunderous applause from those gathered, a capsule containing a commemorative message was placed at the construction site, marking the groundbreaking of the Center.

The participants in the ceremony expressed their sincere gratitude to the National Leader of the Turkmen People, Hero-Arkadag, and President Serdar Berdimuhamedov for their care for the younger generation and their tireless efforts to modernize the material and technical base of the country’s healthcare system, and wished them good health and success in their multifaceted work for the benefit of the people and the country.

Overall, the current ceremonies became a vivid expression of socially oriented state policy, based on the principle of “The state is for the people!”, and the comprehensive work aimed at creating a sophisticated and highly effective healthcare system in the country.
