Established on the 21st of January in 2023, the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan is the highest representative body of people's power. Its activities are regulated by the Constitutional Law «On the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan» and are based on the principles of democracy, transparency, justice, the rule of law and public opinion, which serves as a link between the state and society.
This institutional structure is a direct embodiment of the sacred traditions of the ancestors. As Hero-Arkadag emphasised, the creation of the Council is based on centuries-old national experience in governing the state and building a just society. The Halk Maslahaty serves as a platform for dialogue, where the wisdom of elders serves as a guide for young people, ensuring the continuity of generations and strengthening national unity.
On the 20th of August, a meeting of the Presidium of the Halk Maslahaty was held under the chairmanship of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. The discussion focused on preparations for the next meeting, which will be held on the 19th of September, as well as the celebration of the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's permanent neutrality. As noted, the activities of the Halk Maslahaty are aimed at forming new, modern mechanisms for socio-economic development and effective governance.
Regular meetings of the Halk Maslahaty have become a historically significant event, at which decisions are made aimed at improving the standard of living of citizens. The socio-economic transformations taking place in the country confirm the practical implementation of the doctrine of the President of Turkmenistan, expressed in the motto «The Motherland is the Motherland only with the people! The state is the state only with the people!».
The Halk Maslahaty makes a significant contribution to the consolidation of Turkmen society, which, having inherited the traditions of its ancestors, serves as the foundation of national power and stability of the state. The principle of respect for the work and merits of the older generation is a key aspect of the activities of the Halk Maslahaty, promoting the harmonious development of society and demonstrating that national unity is the driving force of progress.
