As noted in the congratulatory message from the head of state, special attention in our country is given to the development of national systems of science and education, the introduction of new scientific achievements into economic sectors, and the enhancement of the scientific potential of the Motherland. At the same time, much is being done to prepare a generation of true patriots who know the history of their people, take pride in the successes of the Homeland, and strive to raise its authority and glory.
Highlighting that the achievements of our young scientists on the world stage are an honor and glory for the Homeland and a pride for our people, the President emphasized that all necessary measures will continue to be taken to actively involve young scientists of our independent Motherland in scientific activities and the mastering of new relevant directions in science.
All conditions are created in Turkmenistan for conducting fundamental scientific research and implementing advanced developments in production. The consistent strengthening of the material and technical base of scientific institutions and higher educational establishments helps young people, effectively using modern information and communication systems, to delve deeper into the world of science. The country widely supports the desire of youth to conduct research in priority scientific fields, innovative experiments, and to improve their creative abilities. In this context, it should be noted that work in this direction is carried out in accordance with the new edition of the Law of Turkmenistan “On State Youth Policy” and the “State Program in the Field of State Youth Policy of Turkmenistan for 2021–2025.” This year, 1,665 young people participated in the scientific competition, which aims to identify talented youth and actively involve them in science.
They presented their research in six areas: nanotechnologies, chemical technologies, study of new materials and energy; biotechnology, molecular biology, agriculture, ecology, and genetics; information and communication systems, computer technologies; modern medicine and pharmaceutical production technologies; innovative economy; humanities.
After analyzing the submitted works, the competition jury announced 118 young scientists as winners, whose works are distinguished by new scientific initiatives not only in theory but also in practice. All this testifies that the young scientific community of our country, relying on scientific sources, is capable of proposing innovative ideas useful for various fields and industries.
Then, the ceremony of presenting valuable gifts and diplomas to the winners on behalf of the President of the country took place amid enthusiastic applause from those present. The laureates of the intellectual competition, expressing sincere gratitude to the head of state Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Hero Arkadag for their comprehensive care for the younger generation, assured that they would apply all their efforts and knowledge for the prosperity of their beloved Homeland.
Scientific discoveries, scientific and technical ideas, industrial-innovative and information-technological research by scientists, including young ones, play an important role in increasing the scientific and educational potential of the country. In an era of expanding opportunities for scientific creativity, intensifying information exchange, and developing cooperation with leading research and educational institutions worldwide, Turkmenistan is becoming a center for hosting international scientific conferences and subject Olympiads. Such events contribute not only to the effective exchange of scientific achievements but also to the consolidation of efforts to strengthen friendship and brotherhood for the bright future of humanity. These principles are an important and integral part of our country’s policy based on positive neutrality and good neighborly relations.
The award ceremony for young scientists became another confirmation of the high appreciation of the work and talent of youth. The winners of the competition accepted a thankful Address to the President of Turkmenistan, in which they expressed sincere gratitude for the large-scale work carried out for the consistent development of domestic science and the education system, as well as for the opportunities created to unlock the potential of youth.
The festive concert featuring masters of arts and creative teams from higher educational institutions was a wonderful gift to the young scientists of our Homeland on Science Day, widely celebrated in our country.
