The 25th issue of the historical, documentary, scientific and methodological journal «Türkmen arhiwi» prepared by the Main Archival Department under the Cabinet of Ministers in the Turkmen and Russian languages has been published. Popularisation of documents of the National Archival Fund of Turkmenistan (NAFT), assistance in the development of theoretical foundations of domestic archival science and coverage of achievements in this area are the main objectives of the next issue.

The publication opens with a selection of the most significant Decrees and Resolutions of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, speeches of the head of state and the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Hero-Arkadag Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, as well as a brief overview of socio-political events over the past year - major forums, international conferences, consultative meetings at the state level, ceremonies of opening important industrial and social facilities.

As noted in the materials, the main goal of the progressive transformations and reforms carried out in the modern era is to ensure a prosperous life for the people, to form a reliable basis for the prosperity of the Motherland with a long-term perspective.

In the traditional «New Publications» section, readers will be able to read the publication about the presentations of books by the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, in particular, «Änew – müňýyllyklardan gözbaş alýan medeniýet» («Anev – a culture from the depths of millennia»), dedicated to the proclamation of the ancient city of Anev as the cultural capital of the Turkic world in 2024, and «Magtymguly – dünýäniň akyldary», as well as the 4th edition of the Red Book of Turkmenistan, timed to coincide with World Environment Day celebrated on the 5th of June, the 16th volume of the fundamental work of Academician of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov «Medicinal Plants of Turkmenistan», published on the eve of the Day of Healthcare Workers and Medical Industry of the country, the book of the National Leader the Turkmen people's Hero Arkadag «Hakyda göwheri», as well as a collection of poems by Magtymguly Fragi, translated into Uzbek and Kyrgyz languages.

One of the current areas of the state policy of the country is the preservation, study and popularisation in the world of the material and spiritual heritage of the Turkmen people. In this context, a huge role in this important work belongs to the archives of Turkmenistan, where valuable documentary sources of the NAFT are concentrated, which are part of the unique historical and cultural heritage of the nation.

A series of thematic publications is devoted to the implementation of one of the key tasks of the state archival service - providing methodological assistance to office and archival structures of ministries, institutions, enterprises and organisations in matters of proper organisation of document flow. As a result of the fundamental changes carried out in the country, the composition and content of traditional paper-based documentation is changing, with the introduction of computer technologies, new forms of office work are increasingly developing, which need to be improved. The main task of the employees of this service in modern conditions remains the same - compliance with the rules for submitting both paper and electronic documents to the archive, as well as ensuring their safety.

The readers are presented with a series of materials about the life path and activities of famous personalities of Turkmenistan - a female politician Mollayeva Maya Mollayevna, professor Kakajan Muhammetberdiyev, who went through the Great Patriotic War, doctor of technical sciences, professor Aman Hanberdiyev, Gurban Durdy Geldiyev, who stood at the origins of the financial and banking service of the country. It is also worth noting the articles about outstanding figures of science, culture and art, in particular, about the People's Artist of Turkmenistan, musician Purli Saryyev, People's Writer of Turkmenistan Kayum Tangrygulyyev.

The theme of the Great Patriotic War, the victory in which is celebrated as a sacred holiday, bequeathed to us by our fathers and grandfathers as an eternal symbol of peace and happiness of our native land, has always been and will be relevant. Without hesitation and doubt, with fearlessness worthy of worship, the Turkmen soldiers joined the huge army of defenders of the Fatherland. As is known, battles are fought at the front, but victory is being prepared in the deep rear. One of the publications of the magazine, based on documents and photographs of the war years from the funds of the Central State Archive of Turkmenistan, presented readers with interesting historical facts. Our country turned out to be the very place where trains of evacuated enterprises and educational institutions were heading from September 1941. Thus, the Kiev Film Studio, the Moscow Factory of Visual Aids, the Melitopol Training Workshop, the Voroshilovgrad Metal Works, the Kiev Thermos Plant, the Rostov Sewing Factory, and the Armavir Tobacco Factory arrived in Ashgabat. During the war, 50 animals and birds from the evacuated Stalingrad Zoo were kept in the Ashgabat Zoological Garden. The Zavidovskaya Faux Fur Factory, the Voroshilovgrad Wool Drive Belt Factory, the Konstantinovskiy Press Cloth Plant were located in Charjev, and the Mozdok Sewing Factory was located in Mary. An oil refinery was built in Krasnovodsk on the basis of the dismantled equipment of the Tuapse Cracking Plant.

Research and educational institutions were among those evacuated to Turkmenistan.
