On March 20, 2025, in the city of Arkadag, a meeting was held between the Vice President for Medical Activities of the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation for Assistance to Children in Need of Guardianship, O.Atabayeva and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States of America to Turkmenistan Elizabeth Rood. At the meeting emphasized the importance of the work carried out by the Foundation in the development of international relations.

Speaking about the activities carried out by the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation for Assistance to Children in Need of Guardianship, O.Atabayeva noted that the Foundation’s primary goals are humanitarian ones.

As was emphasized, based on these objectives, the work carried out to date by the Foundation, created on the initiative of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, including the implementation of necessary medical operations, has provided great support to children in need of health restoration.

It was noted that the activities of the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation in providing appropriate assistance and support to children in neighboring and partner countries are becoming increasingly large-scale.

Ambassador Elizabeth Rood, expressing gratitude for the detailed acquaintance with the activities of the Fund, emphasized that such work is worthy of praise and wished for its continuation and further success.

During the meeting it was emphasized that this year marks the fourth anniversary of the establishment of the Fund and international events are planned in connection with the celebration of this date. In this context, a number of important issues were discussed.

As Elizabeth Rood noted, the United States of America supports the noble and humanitarian work carried out by the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation for Assistance to Children in Need of Guardianship, and emphasized its readiness for joint activities to promote it, including at the international level. The diplomat expressed confidence that this will contribute to the further successful development and enrichment of new content in relations between the two countries, based on mutual goodwill.

In this regard, O.Atabayeva emphasized that the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan noted the advisability of joint work of the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation for Assistance to Children in Need of Guardianship with specialized structures, as well as with authoritative international organizations, the UN Children’s Fund.

In this context, the meeting emphasized the importance of the tasks outlined by the National Leader of the Turkmen people in this direction, and expressed confidence that their implementation, along with increasing the prestige of the Fund in the international arena, will contribute to strengthening peace and the humanistic principles inherent in the policy of permanent neutrality, and promote the development of friendship and brotherhood.

At the meeting, emphasis was placed on the fact that the implementation of this work in the current year, 2025 – the “International Year of Peace and Trust” – will be of particular importance.
