Today, the  Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs hosted the conference «The International Year of Peace and Trust: Cooperation of Turkmenistan with the World Community» with participation of Deputy-Chairmen of the Cabinet of Ministers, heads of ministries and departments, representations of specialised structures of the United Nations Organization in Turkmenistan, rectors of higher educational institutions as well as  the faculty of the given higher educational institution and the student youth.

As speakers underlined, the peace-loving policy started by Hero-Arkadag and pursued by the President of Turkmenistan in the Era of Revival of the new epoch of the powerful state, enjoys a great prestige in the world. In the given context, the fact that 2025 in the world and in Turkmenistan was announced as «International Year of Peace and Trust» has a special significance.  

It was pointed out that for the decision of the goals set forth according to the maintenance of the motto of the year, according to the Decree of the President of Turkmenistan, the Organizational state committee for holding events on the occasion of announcement of 2025 as the «International Year of Peace and Trust» and the 30th anniversaries of neutrality of Turkmenistan at high level was formed. Recently under the chairmanship of National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty of Hero-Arkadag the first meeting of the committee was held.

At the meeting, Hero-Arkadag considered organizational issues and gave a number of instructions to relevant authorities. Hero-Arkadag also drew the attention to the holding of consultations with structural divisions of the United Nations to develop the Concept of activity and priorities of Turkmenistan within the International Year of Peace and Trust and its implementation.

In this connection, speakers made an emphasis on the telephone conversation between National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty Hero-Arkadag and Secretary General of the United Nations Organization António Guterres on January 14 and exchanged of opinions on priority areas of cooperation and significance of the international events planned to hold in Turkmenistan this year. 

As known, during the telephone conversation Hero-Arkadag also stated to the Secretary General of the United Nations basic areas of the corresponding Concept. Speakers especially underlined that the Secretary General of United Nations António Guterres noted importance of the Concept aimed at consolidation of efforts in solution of tocial issues of the global agenda and fully approved it.

Then, the floor was given to heads of divisions of the United Nations Organization, working in Turkmenistan. As they marked, firm adherence of Turkmenistan to principles of the Charter of the United Nations and its leadership in support of dialogue, trust and peace is a powerful reminder on how the country can serve as a bridge and force of goodwill in the international community. Principles of neutrality underlie preventive diplomacy and can create possibilities for intermediary and solution of conflicts.

It was underlined that the initiative of the President of Turkmenistan on development of the Global strategy of security, which is based on principles of peace and trust, is one of the potential results of the International Year of Peace and Trust to strengthen prevention of conflicts based on the Charter of the United Nations, recently adopted Pact of future and other documents of the United Nations.

Ambassadors who spoke, noted that they have familiarised with the Concept of activity and priorities of Turkmenistan within the International Year of Peace and Trust and have underlined that in the given document opinions of Turkmenistan on the basic issues of the global agenda are stated and it also reflects the relation of the neutral country to consolidation of efforts of states on the basis of mutual trust, dialogue and responsibility.

Heads of specialised establishments of the United Nations in Turkmenistan also developed upon issues of cooperation with our country in corresponding areas and underlined positive results and expressed sincere gratitude to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty Hero-Arkadag for conditions and possibilities created for work in independent Turkmenistan, which steadily follows principles of permanent neutrality.

At the end of the conference «The International Year of Peace and Trust: cooperation of Turkmenistan with the world community» its participants adopted the Message to the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov.

Within the conference the exhibition devoted to announcement of 2025 as the «International Year of Peace and Trust» according to the special Resolution of the General Assembly of the United Nations Organization at the initiative of Turkmenistan was organised, students of the institute performed a literary-musical composition.
