On December 30, 2024, a telephone conversation was held between the National Leader of Turkmen People, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

Hero Arkadag and the President of Uzbekistan exchanged warm greetings on the occasion of the upcoming New Year, wishing the peoples of two countries peace, well-being and further prosperity in 2025.

Taking the opportunity, the head of Uzbekistan conveyed warm greetings and best wishes to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov.

The National Leader of Turkmen people emphasized that Turkmenistan considers mutually beneficial relations with its close neighbor and reliable partner - the Republic of Uzbekistan - as an important vector of the state foreign policy course. Fruitful cooperation between the two countries is based on strong ties of friendship and firm political will.

In this regard, the interlocutors noted with satisfaction that bilateral cooperation has reached a qualitatively new level in recent years.

It was highlighted that the partnership between Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan currently covers a wide range of fields. It was also emphasized that there is a great unused potential, the realization of which will contribute to further strengthening of mutually beneficial relations.

At the same time, special attention was paid to the importance of strengthening bilateral cultural-humanitarian ties.

During the conversation, it was noted that on the occasion of the 300th anniversary of the great Turkmen poet Magtymguly Fragi, whose poetic heritage has entered the treasury of world literature, various cultural events have been held in Uzbekistan. This reiterates the honor of the friendly country to the creative heritage of the outstanding poet and contributes to greater rapprochement and mutual enrichment of the cultures of two neighboring peoples with shared historical roots.

Hero-Arkadag reaffirmed readiness of Turkmenistan for further cooperation and support for initiatives to expand strategic partnership with brotherly Uzbekistan.
