Today, the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, participated in the ceremony of laying flowers at the monument to Magtymguly Fragi, erected in a picturesque corner of Kopetdag.

The ceremony was also attended by the chairman of the Mejlis, deputy chairmen of the Cabinet of Ministers, leaders of military and law enforcement agencies, the mayor of Ashgabat, representatives of the Halk Maslahaty and the national parliament, leaders and representatives of political parties, public organizations, ministries and departmental management bodies, diplomatic missions in Turkmenistan and international organizations, and student youth.

The monument to Magtymguly Fragi, built in the southern part of the city on the initiative of the National Leader of the Turkmen people and thanks to the efforts of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, adds a special color to the architectural appearance of Ashgabat.

As is known, 2024 has been declared in our country as the year of "Fount of Wisdom Magtymguly Fragi". The collection of manuscripts by Magtymguly Fragi has been included in UNESCO Memory of the World International Register. Additionally, the 300th anniversary of the poet's birth has been included in the list of significant dates to be celebrated jointly with UNESCO in 2024-2025. The International Organization of Turkic Culture (TURKSOY) has declared 2024 as "The Year of the Great Poet and Thinker of the Turkic World – Magtymguly Fragi."

The National Leader of the Turkmen people, Hero-Arkadag, has put forward initiatives to celebrate the 300th anniversary of the birth of this poet-thinker at the highest level and to popularize his works that have become universal values.
