Turkmenistan – an oasis of peace and prosperity

The past week was rich in events, which visually testifies to confident advancement of Turkmenistan on the path of peace, creation and progress. Further integration into the modern world economic system - efforts of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov focused on achievement of such strategic targets as the strengthening of economic power of our fatherland and enhancement of mutually beneficial cooperation with foreign partners as well as increase of well-being of our people are aimed at this main goal.

On July 29, the President of Turkmenistan held a working meeting with participation of some Deputy-Chairmen of the Cabinet of Ministers, khyakims of velayats, heads of profile ministries and sectoral departments and others. Its agenda included the state of affairs in regions and agricultural branch and a number of organizational issues.

It was noted that at present, transportation and storage of the collected grain in elevators and warehouses continue. At the same time, due measures are taken to timely make settlements with agricultural manufacturers for the crop produced for the state as well as service establishments and enterprises.

Ploughing of the areas released from the grain also goes on at a dynamic rate. The special attention is given to maintenance of farmers with high quality seeds.

The work is carried out in cotton and rice fields of the country as well as in the areas under sugar beet according to agro-technical standards. In addition to them, proper agricultural activities are implemented to cultivate the fields to be sown with potato, vegetables and gourds as well as other crops.

In the animal husbandry sector, the corresponding work is carried out to ensure due care of the cattle, increase in its livestock and creation of stocks of forages.

With a view of improvement of water supply of agricultural fields, ameliorative condition of the land, rational and an effective use of water resources, water is collected in water basins, banks of rivers are strengthened as well as irrigating systems and collectors are cleaned.

Besides it, the state of affairs of various projects constructed in regions according to programs of social and economic development of the country and planned to be commissioned in the current year as well as preparation for the forthcoming meeting of the Khalk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan were also informed.

The head of the state drew the attention to necessities of full involvement of industrial potential of agricultural branch by introducing widely the advanced scientific-technological solutions and digital system.

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov instructed due officials to analyse the financial and economic condition, material and technical basis, industrial-economic processes of profile manufactures, to develop the processing enterprises of agricultural products into their full capacities. It is necessary to continue reconstruction of operating ones and construction of new objects of agro-industrial infrastructure to take complex measures for decrease in the cost price of the goods and work. Separate instructions concerned the activity of scientific research institutes for improvement of seed growing of wheat, cotton and other crops.

The head of Turkmenistan instructed to increase an assortment and volumes of produced consumer goods, to provide target and effective utilisation of agricultural machinery bought by the state, land resources allocated for cultivation of crops and to accelerate creation of a uniform system of the State land cadastre. Instructions on rational use of water, creation of additional reserves of water, monitoring of the condition of irrigation systems and their optimisation were also given.

At the same time, the head of the state instructed to ensure an unrelenting control over complex work on protection and enrichment of unique ecosystems, florae and faunae of Turkmenistan, consistently to introduce the advanced methods and innovative technologies for development of animal industries and poultry farming. As to development of horse breeding, it was entrusted to increase a livestock of horses and to conduct the work on a scientific basis in this area.

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov instructed to take appropriate measures for timely realisation of adopted programs and strict control over rates and quality of building of objects in places.

At the same time, the head of the state commissioned relevant officials to hold in the centre of constant attention the issues connected with reconstruction of educational institutions in velayats, work on organisation of the international conference on seed-growing of agricultural crops, which will take place in Ashgabat in September of this year, to begin an all-round preparation for the 33rd anniversary of independence of the country.

During the working meeting, a number of personnel issues were also considered.

On July 30, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov received Executive Secretary of the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization (CTBTO) Robert Floyd.

Prospects of development of partnership, which meets general interests, were discussed.

Importance of the policy of positive neutrality of Turkmenistan, aimed at maintenance of peace and stability was underlined. It was pointed out that as a participant of basic international contracts and United Nations conventions as well as some multilateral documents in the field of disarmament, our country steadily follows its obligations.

Concerning issues of bilateral interaction between Turkmenistan and CTBTO, interlocutors stated a productive character of established cooperation in the field of seismology and monitoring.

On July 31, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov received newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States of America to Turkmenistan, Elizabeth Rood.

The diplomat conveyed to the head of the state and National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov greetings and best regards from US president Joseph Biden, having confirmed the interest of the country in strengthening traditionally friendly interstate relations.

During the meeting, a fruitful character of the Turkmen-American dialogue where the special attention is given to maintenance of sustainable development, security, as well as such aspect as climate change was stated.

At the same time, presence of big possibilities for enhancement of mutually beneficial economic partnership, expansion of cultural-humanitarian contacts was underlined.

On July 31, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov received Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of the Republic of Türkiye Alparslan Bayraktar.

During the meeting, prospects of strengthening of Turkmen-Turkish trade and economic partnership as well as development of fruitful bilateral and regional relations in the fuel and energy sector, ore manufacture, transport and communication, agricultural branch and in sphere of investments were discussed.

Possibility of transportation of Turkmen gas to Türkiye and Europe as well as construction of a combined cycle power plant on the Turkmen coast of the Caspian Sea became one of the topics of negotiations. In the given context, the head of the state stated readiness to consider proposals and to support initiatives of the Turkish side.

On August 1, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov with members of the Government took his regular working holiday.

As known, at the expanded meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers held on July 12 of the current year, members of the Government were granted a holiday from August 1, which they can spend in Avaza national tourist zone as well as in health resorts located in various corners of the country.

Within the past week, which was called in the international mass media «energy week of Turkmenistan», the national oil and gas complex hosted meetings and negotiations with companies from the United Arab Emirates, Republic of Koreas and some other countries during which the topic of realisation of large and long-term projects in the gas sphere of Turkmenistan was discussed.

A wide complex of the issues connected with implementation of the project of development of the third stage of Galkynysh deposit were considered during the next meetings of heads of oil and gas branch of Turkmenistan with executives of companies "ADNOC" (United Arab Emirates).

The parties in detail considered the legal, commercial, investment, financial, technical and other components of the project of accomplishment of the given deposit. Realisation of such plans is directly connected with advancement of the project of the gas pipeline Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI).

Heads of "Türkmengaz" State Concern held the next round of consultations of the delegation of “Hyundai Engineering Co. Ltd.” company for development of the fourth phase of Galkynysh deposit. The special attention was given to consideration of prominent aspects of the above-named project, which covered issues of legal maintenance and organisation of work.

The delegation of the Republic of Turkiye, which arrived in Ashgabat at the leadership of Minister of Energy and natural resources by Alparslan Bayraktar, held meetings with heads of "Türkmengeologiýa" State Corporation as well as the Ministry of Energy of the country in which priority areas of cooperation were discussed.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs also hosted a regular meeting of the Interdepartmental Commission to ensure the implementation of Turkmenistan’s international obligations in the field of human rights and international humanitarian law. Representatives of the Mejlis, ministries and departments, public organisations of the country as well as international structures took part in it.

According to the agenda, results of work of the Commission for six months of 2024 were considered, further steps on implementation of national plans in the field of human rights, including maintenance of gender equality, health protection of mother and the child, rights of persons with physical disability, the youth policy were planned.

Ashgabat hosted the Х meeting of the National Centre of Trade Unions and XVII – meeting of the Central Board of the Union of Women in which organizational issues were considered.

Among them - election of new heads of the National Centre of Trade Unions and the Union of Women in connection with transfer of former chairwoman of the given organisations A.Durdyeva to another work.

Some candidates for this post were put forward, professional qualities, organising and other abilities of each of them were discussed.

Following the results of votes, O.Berdilieyva was unanimously elected chairwoman of the National Centre of Trade Unions of Turkmenistan and chairman of the Main Board of the Union of Women. Corresponding decisions were adopted.

On July 30, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the country, chairman of the Turkmen-Iranian commission on economic cooperation from the Turkmen party R.Meredov on the instructions of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov made a working visit to the Islamic Republic of Iran where he took part in the ceremony of inauguration of the newly elected President of Iran Masoud Pezeshkian.

During the meeting, the President of Iran received the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, who on behalf of the head of the Turkmen state Serdar Berdimuhamedov as well as National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov conveyed congratulations and best regards on taking office as the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Interlocutors with satisfaction stated that the adjusted meaningful dialogue successfully develops today both in bilateral and multilateral formats within the international organisations.

Active dynamics of interaction between two countries in political-diplomatic, trade and economic and cultural-humanitarian spheres, which are enriched with qualitatively new maintenance, was marked.

On August 3, National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty, Honourable elder Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov made a flight over the city of Arkadag in which he familiarised with projects and schemes of the site of the industrial targets planned to be erected in the new city, rates of civil work.

Among them - the carpet weaving enterprise and medical projects.

Having noted that at the expanded meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, which took place on July 12, the head of the state allowed members of the Government take a working holiday from August 1, Hero-Arkadag informed that he also takes his annual leave.

Thus, events of the past week testify to success of the policy realised by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, which is aimed at further prosperity of our fatherland and has become a bulwark of peace, stability and well-being in the Era of Revival of the New Epoch of the Powerful State.
