Turkmen hockey players participate in training camp as a part of preparation to Asian Winter Olympics in Sapporo

National Ice Hockey Team returned from international training camp held in “Raubichi” Olympic Sport Complex in Minsk (Belarus). Our players held two friendly matches with local clubs, having confidently won both of them. During training process led by famous international coaches, the main accent was made on practicing of tactical activities in defence and attack. Gained knowledge were used during the matches with amateur Belarusian teams. The first match was between Turkmenistan and “Soyuz” team that managed to overplay our goalkeeper for only one time while our players scored 18 goals. In the second match, “Ice Soft” team was the competitor of national team. in that match, our hockey players won 17:3. The coaches said that Turkmenistan National Team held productive training session before the forthcoming Winter Olympics. The Ministry of Internal Affairs Ice-Hockey Cup, where seven teams divided into two groups take part, started in Ashgabat On January 3. This competition will be good practice for improvement of sport skills for the members of national team, which is formed from the sportsmen of four clubs of the capital. Ashgabat tournament will last until January 9. After the games in Japan, Turkmenistan players will have to train for another important competition – the Asian Cup, which will be held in Kuwait in April. Our sportsmen will play in the first division. It is already known that national teams of Philippines, Oman, Qatar, Kuwait, India and Macao will be competitors of Turkmen sportsmen in group stage.
