Today, ceremonial events in honour of International Women's Day took place in the Turkmen capital. Within their framework, on behalf of the head of state Serdar Berdimuhamedov, ceremonies were held to honour mothers who gave birth and raised eight or more children, who, in accordance with the Decree of the President of Turkmenistan, were awarded the honourary title «Ene mähri», and to present large families with keys to new comfortable apartments.

As is known, the Turkmens, who own the wise words «A woman is a measure of high morality», have always treated and continue to treat their mother with special respect, associating with her ideas about beauty and considering her the fundamental principle of life. Since ancient times, the honour and dignity of the fair half of Turkmen society, which embodies an example of kindness and gentleness, devotion and wisdom, and subtle grace, has always been highly revered.

This tradition has found a worthy continuation in the modern epoch, which is destined to become an era of implementation of projects of planetary significance and large-scale reforms, when sincere respect and veneration for our dear mothers, women and girls are multiplied by the socially oriented policies of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov.

Currently, International Women's Day in Turkmenistan is widely celebrated in accordance with national customs, which is evidence of the enormous, truly state attention to the women of the country. The role of the fair half of Turkmen society in creating a new era of a powerful state during the Revival is emphasized by their active position and significant contribution to the ongoing progressive transformations.

As the participants of the festive event noted, thanks to the constructive policy implemented under the leadership of the head of state, all conditions for a peaceful, happy and prosperous life have been created in the country. As a result of the practical steps taken, a clear system of material benefits has been formed, covering not only the population as a whole, but also every citizen, every family, and primarily large families.

Protection and state provision of the legitimate interests and rights of women are one of the important conditions for the sustainable development of society. In the modern epoch, they work in state power and administration, in all sectors of the economy, in the field of science and education, culture and healthcare, carry out entrepreneurial activities, engage in public work, making their contribution to the achievements of the Motherland.

Caring for motherhood and childhood, preserving family values, developing the professional, creative and intellectual potential of Turkmen women have been elevated to the rank of priorities of the strategy of Turkmenistan, which concrete deeds confirm the commitment to the obligations assumed to protect the rights and dignity of our compatriots. A striking example of this is the practical measures taken in the country to improve national legislation in this area, the successful implementation of programs aimed at preserving their health, the full development of children, social support for large families and much more.

The role of our compatriots is great in raising an educated, healthy and inspired young generation who is infinitely devoted to the Motherland and people. In Turkmenistan, mothers whose hearts are full of love and care, who instill in their children such high moral qualities as patriotism, humanism, conscientiousness and hard work, are held in high esteem.

...The current celebrations have become an unforgettable event in a series of festive events. In the year passing under the motto «The Fount of the Wisdom Magtymguly Fragi», in accordance with the Decree of the President of Turkmenistan, hundreds of our compatriots were awarded the honourary title «Ene mähri». This title is a high sign of distinction, great recognition of the mother’s services to society and the state, the invaluable contribution of wonderful women to the progress and prosperity of the Motherland.

The state is particularly concerned about providing all possible support to large families, including improving their living conditions. On the occasion of International Women's Day, large families became the owners of the keys to new spacious apartments in luxury buildings. With great enthusiasm, they celebrated housewarming in the houses commissioned today in the Berkararlyk and Buzmeyin etraps of the city of Ashgabat. It should be noted that on this day large families also received keys to apartments in houses in the city of Arkadag.

In turn, the participants of the celebrations, on behalf of the women of the country, expressed deep gratitude to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov for the progressive transformations being carried out in the Fatherland, the creation of favorable conditions for their happy life and comprehensive activities, concern for the younger generation, and the preservation of high spiritual and ethical values in society.

On the eve of International Women's Day, ministries, departments, their structural divisions, institutions and organizations, and enterprises of all forms of ownership held ceremonies for presenting cash gifts to women on behalf of the President of Turkmenistan. According to tradition, they were received by all representatives of the fair sex, without exception, including students, schoolgirls and pupils of preschool institutions.

Celebrations in honour of International Women's Day unfolded across the country. On these spring days, congratulations and warm wishes are heard everywhere to our compatriots, to whom concerts, exhibitions, competitions, various meetings and other events are dedicated.
