National Institute of Sport and Tourism hosted the action dedicated to the state policy of Turkmenistan for the development of sport of high achievements under the context of the decision of President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on foundation of new faculty and construction of the building for this in above-mentioned institute. Representatives of the Cabinet of Ministers, the Mejlis, the State Committee for Sport, the Democratic Party, the Central Council of Magtumguly Youth Organization and other non-governmental organizations, lecturers of different universities, coaches and leading sportsmen took part in the meeting. The participants listened to the address of the President of Turkmenistan. In his message, the Head of the State highlighted that our youth, dedicated themselves to the sport, deservingly protects sport honour of the Motherland on regional and international competitions, demonstrating patriotism, courage and skills. The speakers mentioned important role of planned transformations, which would allow bringing national sport movement to higher level. It was highlighted that the building of new faculty has to be constructed in accordance with world’s standards and equipped with all modern technologies. It is necessary to establish all conditions for future successful performances of Turkmen sportsmen in largest international competitions. It was also mentioned that the President of Turkmenistan proposed to name 2017 as a Year of Health and Inspiration taking into account the forthcoming events. This year will be commemorated for Turkmenistan by the main sport forum – V Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games, which will cover not just continental level as athletes not only from Asian countries but also from Oceania will take part in the tournaments. This is an unprecedented case for such type of competitions. It is also has no precedence by the number of sports, more than 20, in the tournament. At present moment, almost all main works on construction site of Ashgabat Olympic village, which has no analogues in the Central Asian region, are completed. Number of tournaments, including Asian championships in different sports, has been already organized there.
