President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, speaking at a meeting of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, noted the advisability of clarifying the plans in connection with the results of the population census.

«As we know, last year a general census of the country’s population and housing stock was carried out using digital technologies. Experts from the UN Population Fund highly appreciated the work carried out in full compliance with international standards», –noted the head of state.

According to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, the census results as of the 17th of December, 2022 showed that the country's population is 7 million 57 thousand 841 people.

«In this regard, we face new challenges. I believe that it would be advisable, guided by the results of the written census, to conduct an appropriate audit and make clarifications in the plans for subsequent years», –the head of Turkmenistan emphasized.
