Achievements and topical issues of the development of horse breeding, prospects for strengthening fruitful cooperation in this area were put on the agenda of the International Conference «City of Arkadag - the Land of Ahal-Teke Horses», held today in the administrative building of the Agricultural Complex of the new city.
In the modern historical epoch, Turkmenistan, which is the birthplace of the legendary «winged» horses, has become the centre of active interaction and exchange of experience between horse breeders, specialists and hippologists from different countries. All conditions for broad cooperation in this direction have also been created in the city of Arkadag, built on the initiative of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, a true connoisseur of the Ahal-Teke breed of horses, who dedicated a number of his wonderful books to them.
The conference was attended by heads and representatives of domestic and foreign sectoral structures, the profile committee of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan, scientific institutions, higher educational institutions, members of the International Association of Ahal-Teke Horse Breeding, and industry experts.
Before the start of the forum, the participants got acquainted with the exhibition of fine and decorative arts dedicated to the Ahal-Teke horses, which was deployed in the foyer. At all times, «paradise» horses have been, and to this day remain true friends and companions of our people, a source of his creative inspiration. This was vividly embodied in the thematic works presented in the exposition.
Then the International Conference began its work in the conference hall, which was held in a hybrid format.
As emphasized in the speeches, the Turkmen people not only presented the world with Ahal-Teke horses unsurpassed in their beauty, grace and noble stature, but also preserved the purity of this unique breed for centuries, continuously improving it. Remaining a historical phenomenon of national and world culture, now the swift «winged» horses have become the personification of the impressive successes of independent neutral Turkmenistan, the continuous connection of times and the continuity of generations. In this context, it is symbolic that one of the brightest sights of the city of Arkadag is the «Akhan» monument, which immortalized the image of a magnificent representative of the Ahal-Teke breed, which is a world record holder, included in the Guinness Book of Records.
