Today, a telephone conversation has taken place between National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, who is on a visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to perform the Hajj in the city of Mecca, and President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

Heartily congratulating the Hero Arkadag on his birthday, the Uzbek leader expressed his sincere wishes for sound health, long years of life and success in the work. The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan also congratulated the National Leader of the Turkmen people on the opening of the first phase of the “smart” city of Arkadag, where digital solutions and the latest technologies have been introduced.

Thanking President Shavkat Mirziyoyev for warm congratulations and kind wishes, the Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty specified that fraternal relations between the two countries today are becoming more dynamic, and filled with a new content.

The Hero Arkadag highly evaluated the interstate dialogue, which has always been characterized by openness and trust, which is a significant factor in the development of mutually beneficial partnership.

As was emphasized, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan are united by the similarity or coincidence of approaches to key issues of international policy, and this provides a solid basis for coordinating mutual efforts in the international arena.

During the telephone conversation, the parties confirmed their commitment to further strengthening trade and economic relations, actively expanding cooperation in the energy, transport, communications and agricultural sectors, as well as interregional ties.

It was highlighted that constructive inter-parliamentary contacts are of great importance in further strengthening the mutually beneficial Turkmen-Uzbek partnership. Collaboration is successfully developing in the cultural, scientific, educational fields, which is a bridge for the rapprochement of our peoples, strengthening centuries-old friendship and good neighborliness.

During the conversation, National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov also emphasized the great personal contribution of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, noting that in recent years fraternal Uzbekistan has carried out grandiose transformations and socio-economic reforms that have brought the country to a new stage of development. Uzbekistan has achieved significant success in many areas, its prestige in the international arena is increasing, and the people’s wellbeing is consistently improving, the Hero Arkadag said, wishing the head of friendly state success in the upcoming presidential elections on July 9 this year.
