Today, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov took part in a mass bike ride on the occasion of the international holiday – World Bicycle Day, which united thousands of compatriots – residents of the capital and regions of the country.

The adoption of the Resolution at the 82^nd plenary session of the 72^nd session of the UN General Assembly, which approved June 3 as World Bicycle Day, testifies to the high appreciation by the World Community of Turkmenistan’s initiative role in the development of sports and fitness movement, cooperation in this field between states and peoples, the formation of ecological culture of society.

Proclaiming at the current stage of development, which has received the deeply symbolic name “The era of the Revival of a new epoch of a powerful state”, the protection of the health of the people and, above all, the younger generation is of paramount importance, the head of state Serdar Berdimuhamedov gave the development of mass sports and recreation movement and sports of the highest achievements the purposeful nature of a long-term nationwide program.

It is for these purposes that modern sports and recreation complexes, multifunctional stadiums, sports schools, gyms and other specialized facilities equipped with all necessary technology have been erected and continue to be built in all regions of the country. The methods of training athletes, specialists and coaches, the practice of conducting competitions have been improved.

Physical education and sports are an integral factor of human well-being, full disclosure of its potential. The establishment of the principles of a healthy lifestyle in society is promoted by the traditions formed in the new era of regular mass sports events, landscaping companies, regular bike rides that unite thousands of compatriots of all ages and professions, Days without vehicles, calling on society to realize environmental responsibility.

Such actions facilitate strengthening the health of the population, increasing the level of environmental well-being and popularization of cycling, as well as, along with health and educational orientation, carry a positive emotional charge, combining entertainment and propaganda functions.
