The events of the past week once again became convincing evidence that in the era of the Revival of a new era of a powerful state, Turkmenistan, under the leadership of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, is making a worthy contribution to the expansion and intensification of constructive international cooperation, achieving high rates of development in all spheres of the life of the Motherland.

On February 27, President of Turkmenistan held a working meeting via the digital system, the agenda of which included the issues of conducting seasonal field work in the country.

The head of state ordered to keep under control the cultivation of land for cotton, the care of wheat and the planting of vegetable and gourd crops in accordance with the agrotechnical calendar, as well as the preparation for the lambing campaign in livestock farms.

The heads of regional administrations were instructed to ensure the quality of construction of facilities planned as part of the implementation of the National Rural Program.

Separate instructions concerned the preparation of seedlings of deciduous, coniferous, fruit trees and grapes for the spring gardening campaign, the determination of sites for their planting.

Last week, good news came from the UN headquarters: at the 60th plenary meeting of the 77th session of the UN General Assembly, the Resolution initiated by Turkmenistan “The role of the United Nations Regional Center for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia” was unanimously adopted.

In a congratulatory Address by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov to the people of the country on the occasion of a significant event, it is noted that this fact has become a new clear evidence of the high international authority of Turkmenistan, the effectiveness of its foreign policy, confirmation of the importance and relevance of preventive diplomacy, as well as recognition of the important role of UN special political missions in areas of peacekeeping and world order.

The head of state expressed sincere gratitude and gratitude to all the countries that co-authored this Resolution and the states that supported its project, noting that Turkmenistan would continue to be committed to close cooperation with the UN in the interests of peace and prosperity on the planet.

On this occasion, the Center for Public Organizations hosted a conference “The United Nations Regional Center for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia – a solid foundation for peace, stability and security in the region”.

As the speakers noted, over more than 15 years of fruitful work, the Regional Center has established itself as an effective platform linking the United Nations system with the countries of Central Asia in solving many topical issues of our time.

On March 1, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov received Igor Bukato, Head of the Vozrozhdenie Group of Design and Construction Companies.

The businessman informed the head of state about the ongoing work, a number of important infrastructure projects implemented in Turkmenistan, expressing his intention to further expand the mutually beneficial bilateral partnership.

Particular attention was paid to the application of the latest technologies in the field of environmental protection and environmental safety, conservation and rational use of water resources of the country's rivers and canals.

On March 2, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov paid a working visit to the Republic of Azerbaijan to participate in the Summit of the Contact Group of the Non-Aligned Movement to Combat COVID-19.

The high-level meeting was attended by heads of state and government, high-ranking representatives of various countries and major international organizations, including the UN, the Organization of Turkic States, the Economic Cooperation Organization, the International Organization for Migration, the World Tourism Organization and others.

The agenda included a wide range of topical issues of regional and global issues, including joint counteraction to the dangerous threats of the time, primarily COVID-19, further steps to strengthen positive political dialogue, stimulate fruitful cooperation in various fields.

Speaking at the forum, the President of Turkmenistan noted that the consequences of the coronavirus pandemic today are one of the most urgent and serious challenges. And this problem, of course, is not limited to purely medical aspects - it directly affects the political, economic, social and humanitarian realities of global development, emphasizing the need to find new adequate mechanisms for relations between states and international institutions in order to overcome the difficult situation in which everyone finds themselves.

In this context, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov named the systematization of cooperation between the NAM countries in the scientific and medical field among the top priorities. In this regard, it was proposed to think about the creation of a single bank of information and methods of NAM on the fight against infectious diseases, accessible to all members of the association.

Along with this, the expediency of discussing the issue of convening a special Conference of medical and sanitary departments of the Non-Aligned Movement with the involvement of practicing doctors, scientists, experts, other representatives of the medical community, as well as other structures and departments related to countering the new threat and overcoming the associated crisis situations. It was emphasized that the forum should be open to all other interested states and organizations.

The President of Turkmenistan called for the establishment of effective, with minimal formalities, channels of cooperation between the Non-Aligned Movement and WHO, primarily through the medical communities of our countries, suggesting to think over the schemes and forms of such work.

In this regard, the proposals made earlier by the Turkmen side on the establishment of such international and regional instruments as the WHO Special Program for the Study of the Coronavirus Genome, the World Health Organization Multilateral Mechanism to Combat Pneumonia, the WHO Methodological Center for the Treatment and Prevention of Acute Infections, the Central Asian Regional Center epidemiology, virology and bacteriology.

Emphasis was also placed on the need, with the assistance and coordination with WHO, to establish a more efficient and fair logistics system for the timely and uninterrupted delivery of medicines and medical equipment to the most vulnerable states from this point of view.

Speaking about long-term plans, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov focused on the consistent restoration of international economic and trade ties.

The readiness of Turkmenistan to start developing the Resolution of the UN General Assembly "On enhancing the role of landlocked developing countries in the development and strengthening of global transport cooperation" was also confirmed. This document is able to demonstrate the significance and understanding of the relevant problems, the commitment of the world community to their solution.

In the context of minimizing the negative economic consequences of the pandemic, it was proposed to strengthen the interaction of the NAM with the relevant UN structures, primarily with the Economic and Social Council.

As emphasized, the most important aspect of joint activities in the post-COVID global economy is the consolidation of the positions of the countries of the Non-Aligned Movement in protecting the legitimate rights and interests of developing countries, actively upholding justice and equality in international economic relations. Here, the goal of the Turkmen state should be clearly and fundamentally formulated: the restoration of economic ties should not harm the developing countries, but should occur at their expense.

The head of Turkmenistan also called for unity and firmness of positions when considering issues of ensuring access of states and regions to food resources, guarantees of good nutrition as an inalienable right of any person.

Of course, all the above tasks of post-COVID recovery are possible only in conditions of lasting peace and equality, the President of Turkmenistan noted, calling on the Non-Aligned countries in the coming period to strengthen their consolidated approaches in the struggle to achieve universal stability and security, overcome conflicts and escalation of tension, seek approval in interstate relations a culture of respectful dialogue, trust and predictability, strengthening the role of international law and the UN Charter as the political and legal foundation of the modern world order and security architecture.

Within the framework of the working visit, the meeting of Presidents Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Ilham Aliyev was held at the Baku Congress Center.

During the exchange of views on topical issues of the regional and global agenda, the interlocutors stated that there is mutual understanding between our countries on the main issues of our time - the preservation and maintenance of global peace and stability, countering the threats of international terrorism, ensuring sustainable energy and transport, water security, environmental protection environment and climate change. At the same time, the parties agreed that multilateral partnership formats are timely and effective in addressing the challenges of the time.

One of the main topics of discussion was the role of the Non-Aligned Movement in international relations. Emphasis was placed on the significance of the current Summit and the new constructive initiatives put forward within its framework.

Trade, economic, transport, logistics and energy sectors, including the implementation of large-scale international projects in these areas, were named among the most important areas of bilateral partnership.

The results of the work of the sectors of the national economy over the past two months of the year were summed up at a regular meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, which President Serdar Berdimuhamedov held digitally on March 3.

As evidenced by macroeconomic indicators for January-February 2023, sustainable development is ensured in all sectors of the economy and regions, and the social and living standards of the population are increasing. GDP growth for the reporting period amounted to 6.2 percent. Compared to the same period last year, overall production increased by 6 percent.

The volume of retail trade turnover compared to the same period in 2022 is 9.5 percent higher. The volume of foreign trade turnover increased by 3.4 percent due to an increase in exports and imports.

The execution of the revenue side of the State Budget for January-February 2023 amounted to 115.7 percent, the expenditure side - 97.1 percent.

For large and medium-sized enterprises, the average monthly salary increased by 9.7 percent compared to the same period last year. Wages, pensions, state benefits and student scholarships have been financed in a timely manner.

The volume of assimilated investments from all sources of financing is 9.1 percent higher compared to the same period in 2022.

In January-February of this year, as part of the implementation of the National Rural Program in a new edition, the construction of social facilities, housing, water treatment facilities, and engineering systems was carried out across the country.

Speaking about the fact that the results of two months testify to the dynamic development of our independent state, the head of Turkmenistan stressed the need not only to maintain the results achieved, but also to increase them.

Having signed the Decree on conferring the honorary title of Turkmenistan "Ene mähri" to mothers of many children, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov instructed to hold an award ceremony, as well as handing over the keys to new apartments to large families in a solemn atmosphere.

Last week, a telephone conversation took place between the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of the Republic of Turkey Mustafa Shentop.

Expressing heartfelt gratitude for the support provided to Turkey in connection with the strong earthquake that occurred on February 6 in the southeastern region of the country, Mustafa Şentop stressed that it is very important to show sympathy and extend a helping hand in difficult times for them to raise the spirit of the Turkish people.

The interlocutors noted with satisfaction the high level of friendship and brotherhood established between the two countries, emphasizing the stability of strategic cooperation in the political sphere.

The Speaker of the Turkish Grand National Assembly focused on the role of parliamentary diplomacy and invited Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to take part in the inter-parliamentary events planned for the near future.

During the conversation, dwelling on the issues of cooperation between the two states in the trade and economic sphere, Hero-Arkadag proposed specific projects for implementation in such sectors of the economy as energy, transport and communications, investment, trade, agriculture, textile industry, processing and petrochemical industries and etc.

On March 4, on behalf of the President of Turkmenistan, the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov made a working trip to the cultural and park complex Magtymguly Fragi, which is being built in the southern part of the capital. Arkadag got acquainted with the progress of work at the final stage, with a number of projects, and also met with the head of the Vozrozhdenie Group of design and construction companies, Igor Bukato.

Hero-Arkadag recommended to be guided during the construction of the complex by national principles of architecture, and in the decoration of objects to widely use color shades that emphasize the originality of our people.

In addition, the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov focused the attention of the relevant leaders on the importance of accelerating the pace of work on a number of new buildings, as well as on issues of water supply, designing a high-voltage power plant.

On behalf of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, Chairwoman of the Mejlis G. Mammedova received credentials from Jairo David Estrada Barrios, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Guatemala to Turkmenistan.

During the discussion of the possibilities of cooperation in a number of promising areas, the commitment of Turkmenistan and Guatemala to a constructive dialogue in a bilateral and multilateral format, including through major international organizations and authoritative structures, inter-parliamentary contacts, was emphasized.

Registration of candidates for the election of deputies of the Mejlis, members of the velayat, etrap, city halk maslahaty and Gengeshes has been completed in Turkmenistan. In total, 14,872 candidates have been nominated and registered throughout the country, of which 258 are candidates for deputies of the national parliament.

They ran for the Democratic Party, the Party of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, the Agrarian Party, as well as groups of citizens living in a certain constituency.

Thus, the past week was full of various events, testifying to the effectiveness of large-scale initiatives of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov for the comprehensive development of the Motherland, deepening the political dialogue of Turkmenistan with the world community, expanding economic partnership and humanitarian ties in the interests of world peace, prosperity and progress.
