Today, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov has made a working trip to the Mary Velayat.
At present, the issues of socio-economic development of the regions of the Homeland are constantly in the focus of the head of state. Addressing the issues of creating optimal conditions for effective work, and complex nature of the ongoing transformations in the velayats aimed at improving the population’s wellbeing, are producing positive results.
Having taken off from the capital, the airplane of the head of state landed at the Mary International Airport, from where President Serdar Berdimuhamedov flew by a helicopter towards the largest gas field “Galkynyş”, which contain impressive reserves of natural gas.
In Independent Neutral Turkmenistan, which has giant deposits of hydrocarbon resources, a comprehensive strategy is being implemented aimed at the innovative development of the fuel and energy sector of the economy. Its important components are the full use of the potential in the oil and gas sector, upgrading the infrastructure based on advanced technologies and innovative developments, the expanding the capacities of the mining and processing sectors, and the diversification of gas export routes.

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov asked about the work ongoing in the field, the introduction progress of modern innovative methods into the structures of the processing industry.
Chairman of the State Concern “Turkmengaz” B. Amanov, having presented the relevant diagrams and drawings, reported on the state of affairs at the gas field “Galkynyş”, the capacity of production facilities, the stages of constructing wells, and the development of new deposits.
As was noted, the necessary efforts are made to successfully implement the objectives to provide domestic consumers with natural gas in full and increase the export potential of the industry.
The head of state emphasized that great importance is attached to the industrial development of the gas field “Galkynyş”, and that its discovery has strengthened the status of Turkmenistan as an energy power in the world and opened up new opportunities for expanding productive cooperation with foreign partners.
Having created favorable conditions for investment, our country has established fruitful cooperation with many countries of the world, well-known foreign companies, reputable financial institutions and international organizations.
Further, having inspected the state of affairs at this important facility and emphasizing the importance of strengthening the raw material stock of the industry, the discovery and industrial development of new deposits in various regions of the country, the head of state ordered to continue work in this area.
The implementation of large-scale projects in this sector, which is significant for the national economy, contributes to the strengthening of interregional and international cooperation, and greatly contributes to creating a unified system of energy security that meets the requirements of the time.
As part of the industrial development of the gas field “Galkynyş”, the State Concern “Türkmengaz”, jointly with foreign partners, built a number of infrastructure facilities.
It should be noted that at this field all technological processes associated with the extraction, processing and transportation of gas are automated. Special equipment contributes to reliable operation and environmental safety of the installations.
The country is carrying out large-scale activities in transition to a digital system, modernizing and innovatively developing the national economic complex. The head of state pointed out the need to create high-tech industrial production, the successful implementation of the adopted programs, and a responsible approach to fulfilling the assignments set.
Highlighting the importance of comprehensive reforms ongoing in all sectors of the national economy, including the fuel and energy sector, which is an important requirement of the time, the head of state focused on the need to provide domestic consumers with natural gas in full, and increase the country’s export potential, giving specific instructions to relevant leaders.
Specifying that every effort must be made to increase the pace of work in the fuel and energy complex of the country and to successfully achieve the goals set for the industry, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov wished everybody great success in the work in progress, and left for the Mary International Airport.
On the way, the President of Turkmenistan examined from the helicopter the bed of the Karakum River, which crosses the velayat. With the coming of cold air flows into the territory of our country, ice sheets formed on the river. Therefore, it is necessary to take a responsible approach to the fortification of its shores, the head of state stressed.
The Turkmen people, who expressed a careful attitude to life-giving moisture in the philosophical phrase “A drop of water is a grain of gold”, have been paying great attention to the efficient use of water throughout their history. At present, the country attaches special importance at the state level to the continuation of these traditions. The efficient development of water sources and improvement of the irrigation system are considered the main condition for gathering a plentiful harvest.
Having finished his working trip to the Mary Velayat, and having arrived at the Mary International Airport, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov left for the capital.
