The quarterly scientific and practical journal “Foreign Policy and Diplomacy of Turkmenistan”, published by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, provides an overview of the most important events in the country's foreign policy in July-September of this year.

The issue opens with a speech by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov at the Conference of Ministers of Transport of Landlocked Developing Countries held on the initiative of Turkmenistan under the auspices of the United Nations on August 15^th, 2022.

The materials published on the pages of the magazine clearly indicate that, advocating broad constructive cooperation in the regional and global dimensions, Turkmenistan, implementing a foreign policy course based on the status of permanent neutrality, strengthens a fruitful dialogue with international organizations and structures, where the key vectors are to ensure universal peace, security and sustainable development.

Another confirmation of this was the invitation of the President of Turkmenistan in the status of an honored guest on September 16 to the meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), which was held in the city of Samarkand.

The materials published on the pages of the magazine introduce the general readership to the key aspects and trends in the development of relations with individual states, in particular, with neighboring countries and with authoritative international organizations and regional structures, built on the main directions of the foreign policy of our Motherland - the principles of positive neutrality, peacefulness, good neighborliness and constructive cooperation.

Another important event was the working trip of the Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty Milli Gengesh Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to Japan on September 25-October 1, during which a number of bilateral meetings took place. In particular, the Hero-Arkadag met with the Prime Minister of Japan Fumio Kishida, Chairman of the House of Representatives of the Parliament of Japan Hosoda Hiroyuki, Chairman of the Parliamentary League of Turkmen-Japanese Friendship, Member of the House of Representatives of the Parliament of Japan, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Japan, Head of the Japanese Sector of the Turkmen-Japanese Committee for economic cooperation.

The meetings discussed issues of mutually beneficial cooperation in a wide range of areas, including political, diplomatic, trade, economic, energy, transport and communications, construction, chemical industry, as well as in the banking and financial industry.

The publication also contains articles on the systematic transition of our country to a “green” economy.

The attention of the readers of the magazine is offered material about the regular VII Congress of the Youth Organization of Turkmenistan named after Magtymguly, which took place on September 1.

During the congress, an analysis was given of the work done over the past period, the priority tasks facing the Organization in the era of the Renaissance of the new era of a powerful state were identified, and a number of organizational issues were considered.

The current topic today is the education of harmonious spiritual, moral, cultural, intellectual and physically strong youth. For an erudite, educated, healthy young generation is a powerful force, a bright future for our state.

As President Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted, in accordance with the dictates of the times, laws are regularly improved, including various areas of youth policy. With the participation of representatives of ministries and sectoral departments, political parties, public organizations, as well as youth, the Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan developed a draft of a new version of the Law “On State Youth Policy”.

The impressive section of the publication “The Chronicle of the Diplomatic Life of Turkmenistan”, which reflects the activities of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in implementing the tasks set by the President of the country and promoting international initiatives of the head of state Serdar Berdimuhamedov, will also arouse great interest among readers. This section covers the events of the third quarter of 2022 in sequential order - brief reviews of meetings at various levels, negotiations, inter-MFA consultations, meetings of intergovernmental commissions, etc., held both in person and via videoconferences.
