Today, the Turkmen capital hosted the II meeting of the International Association «Türkmen alabaý itleri», timed to coincide with the Holiday of the Turkmen Alabay, which, according to the relevant Decree of the head of state, is celebrated for the first time on the last Sunday of October.

The forum was attended by heads and specialists of specialized structures and higher educational institutions, members of the Association. Foreign dog breeders joined them via videoconferencing.

For many centuries, Alabay were grown on the Turkmen land, and now, thanks to their characteristics, they have become a common property, they are widely known in the world, are considered one of the most ancient and elite breeds of dogs.

Alabay, as well as Ahal-Teke horses, as well as elegant Turkmen carpets, are the pride and glory of our people, national values. Alabay are distinguished by courage, daring, devotion to the owner, for which they are valued and loved all over the world.

The Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of the Milli Gengesh, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, devoted his work «Turkmen Alabay» to this breed of dogs, in which there are the following lines: «Alabay is our national pride. Alabay is the wealth of our Motherland. It is a heritage created by our ancestors. And our duty is to protect them and pass them on to the next generations in all their greatness».
