Today, on behalf of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, the State Migration Service hosted a solemn ceremony of presenting passports to persons admitted to the citizenship of Turkmenistan.
The significant event, timed to coincide with the national holiday - Independence Day of the Motherland, was a reflection of her unwavering commitment to the norms of international humanitarian law.
According to the Decree signed by the head of state at the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers held the day before, 1,530 people, representatives of 26 nationalities permanently residing in our country, became citizens of Turkmenistan. In addition, according to the Decree of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, residence permits in Turkmenistan were issued to 315 persons who are citizens of 9 states and representatives of 23 nationalities.
Signing these documents, the head of state stressed that our Motherland would continue to steadily implement a humane, socially oriented policy that ensures a prosperous and happy life, rights, freedoms and interests of people. “Taking an active and proactive stance in developing balanced solutions to topical issues of our time, our country makes a concrete contribution to strengthening fruitful international cooperation, including in such an important area as the humanitarian sphere,” the President of Turkmenistan said.
In the speeches made during the solemn ceremony of presenting passports, deep gratitude was expressed to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov for the great attention paid to solving the problems of stateless people, creating all conditions for their prosperous life.
