“Electric Power of Turkmenistan” is the title of the book by Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan, Honorary Elder of the country Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, published on the eve of the Independence Day of the Fatherland in Turkmen, English and Russian.

The publication contains a speech by the Hero-Arkadag at a meeting with students and teachers of the State Energy Institute of the country, held on September 3 of this year. Readers are offered an analytical review of the electric power strategy of Turkmenistan, the results of national programs and major projects implemented in this area, their positive impact on building up the economic power of the Motherland.

Electricity is the basis for the development of all sectors of our economy. In this regard, the Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty Milli Gengesha in his speech gave detailed information about the possibilities of the energy industry, its history, formation, development in the present and future.

Arkadag pays special attention to the history of the formation of the electric power industry, concrete examples highlight the consistent steps to modernize it, create a multifunctional modern infrastructure of this sector of the economy in close relationship with the goals and objectives of state policy.

As noted in the publication, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov identified the development of the energy industry as one of the important areas of the economic strategy of our Motherland in the era of the Revival of the new era of a powerful state.

The book contains rich factual and statistical material. A specific scientific assessment and information and commentary data on the development of the energy industry as a priority sector of the Turkmen economy demonstrate its growing potential, targets for modernization and staffing.

The publication notes the importance of the development of velayats in the overall electric power infrastructure of the country, gives a description of its dynamic progress and structural changes.

Arkadag Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasizes that currently all over the world special attention is paid to the use of alternative energy sources and the development of a "green" economy. Turkmenistan has wide opportunities in this regard. We attach great importance to the prospective development of these areas. As part of the implementation of the Concept for the Development of the Altyn Asyr Turkmen Lake Region in 2019–2025, it is planned to build a solar-wind power plant with a capacity of 10 megawatts. This will provide environmentally friendly power supply to a modern village under construction in this region.
