On November 9, the international exhibition and scientific conference - “Education and Sports in the Epoch of Power and Happiness” - opened in the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI). The event was co-organized by the Ministry of Education, the State Sports Committee and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan. The number and composition of the delegations are highly impressive – nearly 200 foreign guests from different countries of the world and a large group of scientists and specialists from Malaysia’s major universities came to our country to participate in the forum. Arranged in the CCI Expo Center, the extensive exhibition vividly features rich educational and sport-related achievements of the country with particular emphasis on the preparations ongoing in the country for the mega-event – the 2017 Asian Games. The country’s Ministry of Education and higher education institutions, including the Oguzkhan University of Engineering Technologies, demonstrate wide variety of modern laboratory equipment, scientific and educational books, textbooks, encyclopedias, reference materials and dictionaries published in our country, as well as the cups, medals and award certificates earned by the winners of international academic competitions and sporting events. Scores of stands demonstrate the educational potential of foreign countries, including highly-acclaimed products from leading manufacturers of computer and information technology and innovative laboratory equipment. The well-known companies, such as “Microsoft” (USA), “Lenovo” and “Huawey” (China), “ACER” (Taiwan), offer a broad range of software products. Pre-school and primary school education receives special attention at the exhibition. On display are also the bright classroom furniture and playrooms from “Montessori” (St. Petersburg), educational games and learning kits developed by “Svetoch” (Russia). Among those participating in the exhibition are representatives of higher education institutions from different parts of the world, national and international organizations and associations, student exchange agencies, producers and distributors of educational books. The Eastern Mediterranean University (Cyprus), the Goethe Institute (Germany) and the International Kazakh-Turkish University provided useful information about their student exchange programs. The second thematic section at the exhibition, “Sports”, is presented through the prism of the 2017 Asian Games. The section is represented by leading local and foreign organizations, manufacturers of special sport equipment and sportswear. Sports fashion trends are shown on the stands of foreign clothing manufactures – “Columbia Active Sport” (Great Britain) and “Joma Sport” (Spain). Rather impressive also is a large selection of stylish and comfortable sportswear (made of Turkmen textile) presented by local manufacturers. The exhibition space became a productive platform for creative meetings, talks, business contacts and exchange of experience in the fields of education and sports. Particularly active discussions were centered on the ample opportunities the fast-developing market of Turkmenistan may offer for the development of foreign businesses. The scientific conference held in the Assembly Hall in the afternoon was a continuation of the dialogue centered mainly on the development of cooperation in the priority areas of the state policy pursued by the nation’s leader Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov - education and sports. Consideration was also given to the new forms and areas of cooperation oriented towards qualitative changes in the fields.
