Expressing gratitude for the time allotted, the guests conveyed warm greetings from President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the Head of Parliament of Uzbekistan to the President of Turkmenistan, as well as Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of the Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, confirming their country’s commitment to stepping up the multi-range strategic partnership with Turkmenistan.
During the meeting, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the Special Representative of the President of Uzbekistan for Foreign Policy Affairs and the Acting Foreign Minister of the friendly country exchanged views on priority issues of bilateral and regional partnership.
At the same time, the Uzbek guests noted the active role of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov in promoting comprehensive interstate cooperation, deepening a trust-based political dialogue as an extremely important factor for creating an atmosphere of mutual understanding and support on a bilateral basis and throughout the region. As was pointed out, the participation of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov as a guest of honor in the Summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), to be held in Samarkand on September 15-16 this year, will contribute to the expansion of cooperation on matters of regional security.
Having highlighted with satisfaction the existing impressive potential for strengthening productive and long-term cooperation between the fraternal countries and peoples, the parties reaffirmed their readiness to ensure its effective fulfillment.
At the end of the meeting, having noted with satisfaction the high level of interstate relations, the President of Turkmenistan and his guests expressed confidence in further successful development of the Turkmen-Uzbek dialogue, built on the principles of mutual respect, equality and consideration of mutual interests.

Today, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has hosted the Turkmen-Uzbek inter-MFA consultations with the participation of the delegation of the Republic of Uzbekistan that arrived in Turkmenistan. During the meeting, a wide range of issues related to bilateral cooperation in the political, diplomatic, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian fields were discussed.
The parties emphasized the importance of organizing meetings between the relevant ministries and sectoral departments of the two countries to promote this process.

On the same day, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs hosted the ceremony of awarding Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Vladimir Norov and Deputy Secretary of the Security Council under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Foreign Policy Affairs Abdulaziz Kamilov the Orders of Turkmenistan “Galkynysh”. According to the Decrees of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, they were presented this high award for performing great services in development of interstate economic, scientific, technical and cultural cooperation, a huge personal contribution to strengthening the relations of friendship, brotherhood and good neighborliness between the two countries.
Deputy Secretary of the Security Council under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Special Representative of the President of the Republic of for Foreign Policy Affairs A. Kamilov solemnly presented the order “Dustlik” (Friendship) to Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Minister of Foreign Affairs R. Meredov, who was awarded in accordance with the Decree of President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev for his great personal contribution to development and strengthening of centuries-old friendship and good neighborliness, strategic partnership and wide-ranging cooperation between the Republic of Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan, an active role in promoting joint cooperation programs and projects in the field of trade and industry , the agricultural sector, energy, water management, transport and logistics, as well as cultural and humanitarian exchanges.
