Today, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov held an online meeting with Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers A.Yazmyradov overseeing the agro-industrial complex. The issues of seasonal agricultural work were discussed, as well as decisions were made on a number of issues.
Opening the meeting, the head of Turkmenistan gave the floor to Deputy Prime Minister A.Yazmyradov, who began his report with good news about the successful fulfillment of contractual obligations for harvesting cocoons by the country’s silk breeders.
As noted, as a result of the comprehensive measures consistently carried out by the country’s President to promote the development of the industry, all conditions have been created for the development of sericulture.
Thanks to large-scale state support, hardworking silk growers, having handed over more than 2,300 tons of cocoons to the state, honorably fulfilled their contractual obligations.
The Deputy Prime Minister, congratulating the President of Turkmenistan on the labor victory of the silkworm breeders, expressed sincere gratitude on behalf of the village workers for the opportunities created for fruitful activity.
Having satisfyingly received the good news, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov cordially congratulated the Turkmen people and the courageous silkworm breeders of the country on a brilliant labor victory – the successful fulfillment of the state order for the procurement of more than 2, 300 tons of high-quality cocoons.
As the head of state noted, the rich harvest of cocoons grown by the tireless work of courageous silkworm breeders is a source of well-being of our happy people.
Sericulture plays a special role in the development of the textile industry – one of the leading branches of the national economy. Today, silk production is organized at a modern level. The Ashgabat Silk-winding Factory and the Turkmenabat Silk Production Association, being the main silk processing enterprises, have been modernized and equipped with the latest equipment. New workshops have been opened in them, which produce silk carpets, national keteni fabrics and other products.
“In the future, we plan to increase the volume of investments in sericulture, which will allow us to create additional jobs for our population, increase the production of valuable raw materials,” the President of Turkmenistan said.
The head of state once again heartily congratulated the silkworm breeders and the entire Turkmen people on a great labor victory – the fulfillment of contractual obligations for harvesting cocoons and wished them good health, a prosperous life, great achievements in selfless work for the sake of further prosperity of the Motherland.
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov ordered to hold solemn events in all velayats and present gifts to distinguished cocoon harvesters and employees of specialized enterprises.
Then the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers reported on seasonal field campaigns conducted in the country’s regions.
These days, work continues in Akhal, Lebap and Mary velayats aimed at timely harvesting of wheat crops grown by grain growers without losses, as well as preparations for the harvest, which starts on June 10 in Balkan and Dashoguz velayats.
Along with this, measures are being taken to operate at full capacity combines and vehicles involved in the uninterrupted delivery of grain to receiving points.
In addition, agro-technical measures are being carried out to care for and harvest spring varieties of potatoes and other vegetable and melon crops, appropriate measures are being taken to sell to the population and place these products in cold storage, as well as to prepare for the autumn sowing of vegetables.
Currently, cotton sowing is in the final stage in the country. According to the norms of agricultural technology, cotton seedlings are cared for, row-to-row processing of plants, their fertilizing with mineral fertilizers, vegetation irrigation.
In particular, it was reported that proper work has been carried out to correct deficiencies in the water supply of Dashoguz region. Currently, due to the stable water level in the rivers in the velayat, the water supply of agricultural lands has improved, appropriate measures are being taken for rational water use in the future.
According to the Deputy Prime Minister, cotton sowing in the country will be fully completed in the near future.
Summarizing the report, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov focused on the importance of timely and highly organized harvesting – an important campaign in agriculture, emphasizing issues related to the harvesting without losses. The head of state ordered to make every effort to successfully solve the tasks set.
It was noted that carrying out work to obtain a rich harvest of cotton and other crops in full compliance with the norms of agricultural technology, ensuring food security of the country are among the urgent requirements. These tasks should be treated responsibly and comprehensively.
Then the head of state highlighted that on June 11 he would hold a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, giving Deputy Prime Minister A.Yazmyradov relevant instructions, taking into account the difficult situation with water in our region.
In this context, the President of Turkmenistan, firstly, ordered to prepare a draft resolution on the establishment of a Government commission under the leadership of the Vice-Premier in charge of the agro-industrial complex and to include in its composition the heads of the Supreme Control Chamber, the State Committee of Water Management, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection, scientific institutes, Velayat khakimliks and other departments.
Secondly, the head of Turkmenistan emphasized the need to examine the riverbed, starting this work with the Amu Darya and the Karakum River. In this regard, it was assigned to identify the reasons hindering the watercourse, and promptly draw up an action plan to eliminate deficiencies and begin its implementation. In addition, the head of state demanded to prepare proposals related to the allocation of necessary funds for the purchase of machinery, dredgers and water pumps and spare parts for them.
Thirdly, in addition to rivers, it is necessary to check the main water channels, as well as develop an action plan for their cleaning and concreting and begin its implementation, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov said.
Fourth, the head of state instructed to consider the possibility of starting the construction of desalination plants and water supply to Ashgabat from the Caspian Sea.
Fifth, the President of Turkmenistan ordered to report on the progress of the work carried out at each meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers.
