The next issue of the quarterly popular science magazine “Miras”, published by the Institute of Language, Literature and National Manuscripts named after Makhtumkuli of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan in Turkmen, Russian and English, has been issued.
Addressed to a wide range of readers, the journal continues a series of publications on new discoveries and research results of the historical, cultural and spiritual national heritage.
The first pages of the issue are devoted to the congratulatory Addresses of the head of state to the people of independent neutral Turkmenistan on the occasion of the inclusion of the craft of making dutar, performing musical art on it and the art of bakhshi, International Women's Day, the National Spring Holiday - International Novruz Day, on the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
The article “Mukam genre in Turkmen folk music” of the section “Discoveries and new developments” tells about the genre’s features, variety of structures and figurative and emotional structure of instrumental pieces for dutar, which occupy a leading place in the national musical culture.
The solo skill of playing the dutar is a phenomenon of Turkmen music, recognized as an outstanding phenomenon of the instrumental culture of Central Asia. A clear confirmation of this was the inclusion of the performing arts and art of bakhshi in the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
Specialists will also be interested in the article “Fundamental study of the Turkmen language in the era of independence”, in which the author gives an overview of publications devoted to the results of research by domestic scientists on the national features of the Turkmen language, alphabet, and scientific grammar.
The same section contains the material “Philosophical worldview through the prism of artistic consciousness”. Referring to the works of a whole galaxy of masters of artistic expression, thinkers and philosophers of the East, including Khoja Yusup Hemedani, Khoja Ahmed Yasawi, Dovletmammet Azadi, Magtymguly Fragi and many others, the author discusses the relationship between the philosophical and artistic consciousness.
A look at any period of human history shows that in public life at all times great attention was paid to agriculture. This topic is devoted to the publication “Development of agriculture in the state of the Tahirids”, posted under the heading “Interaction of cultures, peoples and civilizations”, revealing such topical issues as the development of land ownership, taxation, irrigation systems. The passage of the Great Silk Road in antiquity and the Middle Ages through the main centers of culture on the territory of Turkmenistan - Gurgench, Amul, Zemm, Merv, Serakhs, Abiverd, Nisa, Dehistan - contributed to the saturation and abundance of their bazaars with products of local producers that meet the demand of that time, as a result whereby agriculture flourished and reached a high level.
The article “The Art of felting of the Turkmens” published on the pages of the magazine provides interesting data from the history of felt felting, as well as about the technique of making and using it in everyday life.
The publication traditionally ends with an overview of the events of the social, scientific and cultural life of our country for the first quarter of this year, the motto of which is “The era of the people with Arkadag”, demonstrating the consistency of the successfully implemented progressive state policy of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov aimed at the further prosperity of the Fatherland, prosperity and happiness Turkmen people, international cooperation in the humanitarian sphere.
