The important outcomes of the Inter-Parliamentary Forum of the Central Asian Countries and the Russian Federation and the meeting of the Dialogue of Women of the Central Asian States and Russia that were held in Ashgabat were discussed during today’s telephone conversation between Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of Milli Gengesh Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

The Uzbek leader, heartily congratulating the Arkadag on the successful holding of these forums in Turkmenistan, pointed out that regular mutual contacts at the top and other levels are a clear indicator of mutual trust and respect. All this gives a powerful impetus to the progressive development of interstate relations.

Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov thanked President Shavkat Mirziyoyev for the congratulations, emphasizing that Turkmenistan highly appreciates bilateral relations with the fraternal Republic of Uzbekistan and attaches great importance to the development of comprehensive cooperation with the close neighbor and reliable partner, with which much connects and brings closer.

The President of Uzbekistan stressed the relevance of the important proposals put forward by Arkadag Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov in the field of inter-parliamentary regional cooperation aimed at maintaining global peace and security.

Confirming mutual interest in further strengthening Turkmen-Uzbek ties in trade, economic, humanitarian and cultural areas, and inter-parliamentary relations, the parties expressed their firm conviction that cooperation based on centuries-old bonds of friendship and good neighborliness would continue to successfully develop and strengthen for the benefit of our fraternal peoples.
