Today, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov received Maulen Ashimbayev, Chairman of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, who arrived in Turkmenistan at the head of his country's delegation to participate in the Inter-Parliamentary Forum of Central Asian States and the Russian Federation. The Speaker of the Parliament of the friendly state highly appreciated the organization of the forums held these days in Ashgabat, which increase the international prestige of Turkmenistan and its role in addressing topical issues of the regional and global agenda.
During the meeting, the head of state and his guest discussed the current state and prospects of bilateral cooperation, including in the political, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian fields, stating the high level of interstate dialogue achieved in recent years and the great potential and opportunities for further intensification of partnership in a wide range of areas.
They also discussed mutual interest in the implementation of joint projects in the field of science and education, culture and sports, and in general in expanding the dialogue in the humanitarian sphere as a fundamental factor in strengthening peace, cooperation and sustainable development.
The Chairman of the Senate of the Parliament of Kazakhstan emphasized that the peacekeeping policy of independent, permanently neutral Turkmenistan, acting as a generator of a number of important international initiatives designed to contribute in every possible way to strengthening security and socio-economic progress in the region and the world, has earned the country a deservedly high international prestige from all members of the Community of Nations, including Kazakhstan, which sees in Turkmenistan a reliable partner that plays a huge positive role in ensuring stability in Central Asia.
At the end of the meeting, once again exchanging good wishes, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and his guest expressed their firm confidence that the high level of mutual understanding and trust between our countries would continue to serve as a solid basis for building up interstate partnership, which meets the long-term interests of the two peoples, united by a common historical and cultural ties.
