The telephone conversation between the President of Turkmenistan and the Prime Minster of Japan

Today, the telephone conversation between President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Prime Minister of Japan Fumio Kishida has taken place.

At the beginning of the conversation, the head of the government of Japan warmly congratulated President Serdar Berdimuhamedov with his convincing victory at the elections, wishing him great successes in his activity at the highest state post.

Having sincerely thanked for his congratulation and kind wishes, the President of Turkmenistan underlined that he highly appreciates the existing Turkmen-Japanese relations and attaches a great significance for further development of cooperation, which traditionally is based upon principles of long-standing friendship, trust and mutual understanding.

In this connection, the head of the Turkmen state also congratulated his colleague and in his person, all the friendly people of Japan with a significant date, stating with satisfaction that for 30 years a significant progress has been reached in expansion of mutually beneficial relations. It was underlined that Turkmenistan and Japan strive for the strengthening of the political dialogue, efficient trade and economic cooperation and relations in the cultural and humanitarian areas.

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the head of the government of Japan were unanimous in their option that our countries successfully cooperate on the margins of «Central Asia plus Japan» Dialogue, which is an important platform for discussion of topical issues of constrictive partnership.

Further, in their conversation, the sides marked an efficient character of interstate cooperation, which is successfully developed in the sphere of trade and economy. Our countries have established mutually beneficial cooperation in a wide range of sectors.

As an example, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov cited efficient joint efforts of cooperation combined and developed in the chemical and gas processing sectors. It was also noted that advanced technologies and equipment of Japan are widely used in construction of new power stations in our country.

Having expressed his gratitude to the head of the government of Japan for the invitation to participate in the fourth Asia-Pacific Water Summit, which is to take place on April 23-24, 2022 in Kumamoto, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov underlined that today, and rational and reasonable use of water resources is a basic pledge of sustainable and stable development.

At the end of the telephone conversation, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Prime Minister Fumio Kishida wished each other sound health and successes, and friendly peoples of the two countries –peace, wellbeing and progress.

The telephone conversation took place at the initiative of the Japanese side.
