One more time, the past week’s events have confirmed that our Motherland is taken by the world community as the country committed to the principles of democratic transformations, pursuing steadily the course toward maintenance of peace, welfare and sustainable development, open for the constructive business partnership and active cultural mutual enrichment.

On March 15, an enlarged session of the Cabinet of Ministers and the State Security Council was held to draw together the final results of the country’s Presidency elections.

At the session, Chairman of the Central Election Commission for conducting of elections and referenda in Turkmenistan (CEC) has publicly promulgated the final results of Presidency elections, which were held on March 12. Being guided by the generally-admitted international suffrage norms, existing procedures of conducting elections on the democratic basis, principles of universal, equitable and direct suffrage, secret ballot and free expression of popular will, the final results of elections were distributed as follows: Perhat Begenjov – 2.02 percent; Agajan Bekmyradov – 7.22 percent; Serdar Berdimuhamedov – 72. 97 percent; Berdymammet Gurbanov – 2.22 percent; Babamyrat Meredov – 1.08 per cent; Hydyr Nunnayev – 11.09 percent; Maksat Odeshev – 1.15 per cent; Maksatmyrat Ovezgeldiev – 1.16 percent; Kakageldi Saryev – 1.09 percent.

Worth of noting that on March 14 of the running year, at the CEC resulting session, on the basis of minutes of velayat, etrap, town and district election committees and in tune with Article 76 of Election Code of Turkmenistan, the Central Election Commission has resolved: to consider the nominee – Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Serdar Gurbangulyevich Berdimuhamedov (with overwhelming majority of votes – 72.97 percent), popularly elected to the post of President of Turkmenistan, and this solution is enshrined in a special Resolution.

Grateful for congratulations and kind words, the newly elected President has extended heartfelt gratitude to all countrymen who took active part in the elections and gave their votes for him. Having concentrated on great services and efforts of the leader of nation Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to strengthen the economic power of the Motherland, increase its global name recognition, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov has assured that he would direct all his efforts, abilities, knowledge and experience to justify the people’s high confidence. In the years ahead, he would carry out the work aimed at safeguarding public tranquility, security of independent, neutral Turkmenistan, advancement of peace triumph and understanding on the planet, as well as at the prosperity of the country and provision of wealthy and happy life of the people.

Having extended cordial congratulations to the newly elected head of state Serdar Berdimuhamedov on his victory in the Presidency elections, the leader of nation Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov has highlighted that this success – is the result of the Turkmen people’s high trust. To justify their trust, it is necessary to infinitely love the Motherland and native people, to constantly concern for the people, protect its interests, in case of need be ready to sacrifice life for the Motherland and people, declaimed Arkadag, having expressed firm confidence that the new President of the country would justify people’s trust.

At the session, particular attention was focused on the incoming inauguration ceremony of the President of Turkmenistan. In this context, an announcement was made on instituting of the State Commission for preparing and conducting of the solemn procedure at the highest level, and the Resolution was signed on approving membership of the Commission and its Measures Plan.

Last week, the leader of nation Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov conducted the telephone talks with: President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin; Chairman of the Chinese People’s Republic Xi Jinping; President of the Turkish Republic Recep Tayyip Erdogan; President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Seyed Ebrahim Raisi; President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Arif Alvi; President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev; President of the Republic of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev; President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Zhaparov; President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomalii Rahmon; President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev; Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikolo Pashinyan; King of Bahrain Hamad bin Isa Al Halifa; Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the United Arab Emirates, Minister for Presidential Affairs Sheikh Mansur bin Zayed Al-Nahayan.

The interlocutors have offered their heartfelt congratulations to the Turkmen leader, who intends to continue active work as Chairman of Halk Maslakhaty of Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan, on the success of the Presidency elections which were held in the atmosphere of openness and publicity, on the wide alternative basis, having strikingly demonstrated high level of democratization of the Turkmen society.

Then, having extended cordial congratulations on electing to the highest state position and wishes of great success to Serdar Berdimuhamedov in his responsible work, the interlocutors have confirmed their countries’ commitment to the traditional relations of friendship, good neighborliness and mutuality- and interest-based cooperation.

Sincerely grateful for congratulations and kind wishes, the newly elected President of Turkmenistan has expressed readiness to continue the policy course of the previous head of the state, aimed at further strengthening of the multifaceted partnership, maintenance of the proposals and initiatives on expanding and deepening of interaction between the friendly countries in the political-diplomatic, trade-economic, and cultural-humanitarian spheres.

Not the least important was the telephone talk with the Secretary-General of the United Nations Organization Antonio Guterres. Having extended his cordial congratulations to the newly elected head of the Turkmen state on his convincing victory in the Presidency elections, the UN Secretary-General has wished him great success in the work on the important and responsible post. In turn, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov has assured that now and in the long term he would make every effort for universal development, invest in safeguarding peace and stability on the planet.

Numerous greeting messages and letters addressed to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov on the occasion of his victory in the Presidency elections were received from the leaders of different countries and international organizations.

On March 19, the Ruhyet Palace hosted the solemn inauguration ceremony of the newly elected President of Turkmenistan.

Serdar Berdimuhamedov was welcomed with lengthy applause of the upright people assembled – the leaders of Halk Maslakhaty and Mejlis of Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan, members and deputies of the two chambers of the National Parliament, Deputy Chairmen of the Cabinet of Ministers, members of the State Security Council, military men and officers of the law enforcement agencies, representatives of the political parties, social organizations, local governments and self-government institutions, CEC members, the nominees of the Presidency elections, heads of diplomatic missions and reputable international organizations accredited to Turkmenistan, representatives of local and foreign media communities, public at large.

To the music of ceremonial march, the soldiers of Honor Guard brought in the State Flag of Turkmenistan, Standard of President of Turkmenistan, Constitution of Turkmenistan, Distinctive Mark of President of Turkmenistan, and also the Sacred Koran.

In his speech, the CEC Chairman has informed that as a result of successful elections of the head of the state on March 12, the nominee Serdar Gurbangulyevich Berdimuhamedov, who received the overwhelming majority of votes (72.97 percent), in compliance with the CEC Resolution and Article 76 of the Election Code of Turkmenistan, is recognized as the popularly elected President of Turkmenistan.

Having placed his right hand on the Constitution, the newly elected head of state took an oath of allegiance to the Motherland and people. Then, the CEC Chairman, having presented Serdar Berdimuhamedov with the Certificate of the President of Turkmenistan, and the honorary elders (representatives of five velayats and Ashgabat city) – with the Distinctive Mark of the President of Turkmenistan, extended their congratulations on his coming into office.

Grateful to the countrymen for their high trust, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov has delivered a speech, in which he has highlighted that independent Turkmenistan entered on a new phase of development proclaimed as “Revival of new epoch of the powerful state”. In this period we’ve set high goals – provision of stability and security, socioeconomic development of the native Motherland, further rise of the standard of living, safeguarding of peace and mutual trust on the planet.

The head of state Serdar Berdimuhamedov has set forth the priority directions of the upcoming work in all spheres of the economy, having noted that to timely and qualitatively tackle the tasks set in the approved National Program of Turkmenistan’s socioeconomic development in 2022-2052, we are to mobilize all our possibilities, work hand in hand, in the unity and solidarity.

In front of the central entrance of the Palace Complex “Oguzkhan”, the soldiers of Honor Guard and a contingent of troops representing the country’s different military services have declaimed a sacred State Oath of Turkmenistan to President of Turkmenistan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the country’s Armed Forces Serdar Berdimuhamedov.

The head of state Serdar Berdimuhamedov received the parade and proceeded to the Palace Complex “Oguzkhan” to perform his duties on the highest state post.

In compliance with Article 92 of the Constitution of Turkmenistan and Article 7 of the Law “On the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan”, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov has signed the Resolution on in-full-force abdicating of members of the country’s Government, having thereto prescribed to continue to perform their official duties until the formation of new Cabinet of Ministers.

That same day, on the occasion of inauguration of President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, the Reception Center hosted a formal reception and the concert program performed by masters of art of the country and young vocalists – students of the Turkmen National Conservatoire named after Maya Kulieva.

The evening festivities were organized in front of the State Tribune. The head of state and attendees of the event were welcomed by popular vocalists and choreography collectives of the country.

Grandiose fireworks, which painted the evening sky of Ashgabat with thousands of bright colors, were a culmination of the picturesque festive show in the square.

On the occasion of inauguration of President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, on March 19, a sadaqat was given in Hezreti Omar Mosque.

On March 20, in Turkmenistan, with the participation of the head of state, the start-up was given to the tree-planting campaign timed to the National Spring Holiday – International Novruz Day, which embodies triumph of life, faithfulness to the spiritual traditions and values of the Turkmen people.

Early in the morning, having planted a young tree in the territory of Berkaralyk etrap of the capital, the President of Turkmenistan gave thereby start-up to the next phase of the large-scale landscaping program.

As a part of large woodland park zones, the trees, countrywide planted on that day, have decorated the fertile Turkmen soil, which entered the period of its true flowering.

Last week, the International Relations Institute of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs hosted the presentations of books authored by Hero-Arkadag Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov – «Abadançylygyň röwşen gadamlary» released in the Russian and English languages, and “Spiritual World of Turkmens” – in the Armenian language.

The speakers have noted that the books are an opportunity to make a deeper insight into the historic way of the Turkmen people, better understand its invaluable contribution to the global scientific, economic and cultural progress, and get acquainted with specifics of mentality. The works of the leader of nation are of particular importance for the investigators and culture experts in understanding of the spiritual-moral values of Turkmens.

Thus, the past week’s events have become yet another historically important landmark for the country, the sense and crux of which reflect the goals of the era of Revival of New Epoch of the Powerful State – strengthening of democratic basics of the society, enhancement of Motherland’s economic potential and its international authority, spiritual values of the nation, as well as welfare of the Turkmen people.
