The next issue of the quarterly scientific and practical magazine “Foreign Policy and Diplomacy of Turkmenistan”, which highlights the most important events in the international activities of our state, has been published.

Topical topics raised on the pages of the publication have already gained the periodical immense popularity among a large readership, not only in the country, but also abroad. The magazine, founded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, successfully fulfills its main task, contributing to a better understanding of the high goals and objectives of the foreign policy of independent neutral Turkmenistan by the world community.

The issue opens with the speech of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov at the 15th Summit of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO), held on November 28 last year in Ashgabat as part of our country's chairmanship in this structure in 2021.

Our country is striving to use the available opportunities to build up effective trade, economic, humanitarian and cultural contacts in the vast geographical space occupied by the Turkic-speaking states on the Eurasian continent. The important events of 2021 include the adoption of a decision on the entry of Turkmenistan into the Organization of Turkic States in the status of an observer at the VIII Summit of the Heads of State of the Cooperation Council of Turkic Speaking States (Turkic Council), held in Istanbul on November 12 last year.

The pages of the next issue under the heading “International political activity of the President of Turkmenistan” contain materials on key aspects and trends in the development of interstate relations, in particular, with the Russian Federation, the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Islamic Republic of Iran, and the Austrian Republic. The publications also highlight the participation of the leader of the nation in such forums as the Second UN Global Conference on Sustainable Transport, the meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of State, the International Forum on Northern Economic Cooperation, where constructive initiatives were put forward aimed at solving urgent problems of our time.

The articles of heads of international organizations and their subdivisions, well-known foreign diplomats, authoritative experts and other leading experts will be of great interest to readers. Among them, the materials of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey and Japan Mevlut Cavusoglu and Takako Suzuki, Ambassador, Special Representative of the European Union in Central Asia Terhi Hakala, Executive Secretary of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe Olga Algaerova, Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization Daren Tan Heng Shim, Director of the Central Asian Program of the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) Grigory Mazmanyants and WWF Scientific Director Olga Pereladova.

The regular issue of the publication traditionally ends with the selection of “Chronicles of Diplomatic Life”, which provides brief reviews of meetings at various levels, inter-MFA consultations, meetings of intergovernmental commissions held in the fourth quarter of 2021, both in person and via videoconference.

All presented publications are a direct reflection of the interest of the independent neutral Turkmen state in the comprehensive development of equal, mutually respectful relations and fruitful cooperation with the states of the planet, constructive dialogue with leading international organizations and structures in the interests of world peace, security, prosperity and progress.
