Pre-election meetings of voters with candidates for President of Turkmenistan are under way in Turkmenistan. Visiting each region of the country, candidates, in accordance with the Electoral Code, use the equal rights and opportunities granted to them for freedom of campaigning, speaking at meetings with the electorate and in the media, which is a striking illustration of the triumph of the principles of democracy. The meetings took place with broad participation of the public, representatives of labor collectives of enterprises and organizations, honorary elders and youth.

Mary, March 2 (TDH). Today, a meeting of voters with the candidate for President of Turkmenistan from the Democratic Party, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Serdar Berdimuhamedov has been held in a conference hall of the Mary Velayat Hyakimlik.

Opening the meeting, Chairman of the Mary Velayat Committee of the Democratic Party, deputy of the Mejlis of Milli Gengesh K, Gurbanov gave the floor to election agent of the candidate for President of the country, honorary elder of Turkmenistan H. Ovlyagulyev, who indicated, among the main character traits of Deputy Prime Minister Serdar Berdimuhamedov, diligence, responsible, proactive and professional approach to dealing with urgent issues aimed at the prosperity of his native land, strengthening its position in the international arena, as well as ensuring a prosperous and happy life for the people of Turkmenistan.

Then, candidate running for President of Turkmenistan, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Serdar Berdimuhamedov briefed the audience on the main provisions in his election program. Presenting his vision of further development of Turkmenistan, the candidate for the highest state position emphasized his aim to continue the state course, the main priorities of which are strengthening the national economy by diversifying all its sectors, as well as improving social and living conditions and enhancing the social security of the population.

As was noted, being one of the key sectors of the national economy, the oil and gas industry has an extremely important role to play in socio-economic development of the regions and the state as a whole. The strengthening of the raw material base of the industry, the development of new deposits throughout the country, including Mary Velayat and the processing of minerals for the economic growth of the Homeland were specified among the long-range areas. In this context, there are plans for maintaining the modern technical and technological equipment status of the fuel and energy complex in the future, which will make it possible to fully automate the processes at the «Galkynyş» field related to the production, storage and transportation of gas.

Priority will be given to the electric power engineering complex, which is also one of the leading industries of the country’s economy. In this regard, work will be stepped up in the coming years to implement the Industry Development Concept, which provides for the construction of gas turbine power plants with advanced equipment from well-known world manufacturers, power transmission lines, power distribution substations, and upgrading the energy supply systems in the velayats and the capital.

Great attention will continue to be paid to the issues related to employment of the population, for which social and industrial facilities will be put into operation in the region, new jobs will be created, comprehensive support will be provided to small and medium-sized businesses, and the light industry will be developed.

As the candidate highlighted, development of the agro-industrial complex in the velayat, taking into account natural and climatic conditions, an increase in the production of fruits and vegetables, watermelons, gourds, melons, grain, cotton, cocoons, and small cattle are also among the urgent provisions contained in the election program. As in all sectors of the country’s economy, progressive reforms will be further carried out in agriculture, aimed primarily at creating favorable conditions for farmers to collect plentiful crop yields and contribute to food abundance.

The focus will also be on development of the transport and communications sector, in particular, the construction of the Mary-Turkmenabat and Mary-Serhetabat highways, roads within the velayat, bridges, and other infrastructure facilities.

Answering questions from voters, the candidate emphasized that the priority areas of work will include the implementation of the Program “Revival of the New Epoch of the Powerful State: the National Program for Socio-Economic Development of Turkmenistan in 2022-2052”, approved by the Decree of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov at a session of the Halk Maslakhaty of Milli Gengesh.

At the same time, it was emphasized that practical steps will be taken to transform the social and living conditions of the rural, build new modern cities in etraps, carry out housing construction, strengthen the material and technical base in such areas as education, healthcare, culture and sports.

Thanking the audience for showing the interest and attention, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Serdar Berdimuhamedov assured them that if he is elected to the highest state post, he will aim all his knowledge and experience at maintaining the further prosperity of the Homeland, creative work and happy life of the people, effective use of the economic potential of the state.

Today, the House of Culture of the city of Anau, Ak Bugday etrap, has hosted a meeting of voters with the candidate for President of Turkmenistan, Director of the Financial and Economic Vocational School of the Lebap Velayat Perhat Begenjov, nominated by an initiative group of citizens of the Lebap Velayat.

Chairman of the Tejen City Association of Trade Unions B. Gurbanberdiev opened the meeting. Then the floor was given to the candidate’s election agent, Director of Secondary School No. 28 of Turkmenabat city Y. Yagmurov, who introduced the audience to the work biography of the candidate for the highest state post. As was reported, Perhat Begenjov has established a reputation as an enterprising and energetic young leader with organizational skills and positive personal qualities.

The candidate, who then spoke, having familiarized those present with his election program, stressed that Independent Neutral Turkmenistan, steadily going along the path of peace, creativity and innovative development, has gained high prestige in the international arena. At the same time, the National Program for Socio-Economic Development of Turkmenistan in 2022-2052, adopted at the historic session of the Halk Maslakhaty of Milli Gengesh on February 11 this year, will be a guide to action.

In this context, the most important objectives include the effective fulfillment of the huge economic potential existing in the country through the diversification of all sectors of the national economy, digitalization and the introduction of advanced technologies, stimulating the private sector, increasing the production of a variety of competitive export-oriented and import-substituting goods. The meeting was opened by Deputy Director for Education of Secondary School No. 12 of Ak Bugday etrap H. Durdyev, who gave the floor to the candidate’s election agent, Senior Lecturer of the Economics Department of the State Power Engineering Institute of Turkmenistan D. Agajanov. He also introduced the audience to the work biography of K. Saryev, his personal and professional qualities, including diligence, conscientiousness and responsibility, vast experience in educating young people.

Then, speaking to the meeting participants, the candidate outlined the main provisions in his election program, the most important of which is increasing the wellbeing of the people of Turkmenistan. As is known, the initiative to nominate young leaders capable of taking responsibility for the destiny of the Homeland and the people was announced in the historic speech by the leader of the nation at a session of the Halk Maslakhaty of Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan in February.

Today, a meeting of voters has been held at the Cultural and Sports Center of the Turkmenbashy Complex of Oil Refineries with the candidate for President of Turkmenistan, Vice-Rector for Research of the Turkmen State Institute of Physical Culture and Sports, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences Hydyr Nunnaev, nominated by an initiative group of citizens of the city of Ashgabat.

The meeting was opened by Director of the Cultural Center of Turkmenbashy city S. Nuryev. Then the floor was given to the candidate’s election agent, Acting Department Head at the Turkmen State Institute of Physical Culture and Sports Ch. In the afternoon, there was also a meeting of voters with the candidate for President of Turkmenistan, Chief of the Sanitary and Epidemiological Service of Babadaykhan etrap, the Akhal Velayat, Maksatmyrat Ovezgeldiyev, nominated by an initiative group of citizens of this region.

Department Head at the Cultural and Sports Center of the TCOR T. Atekaev opened the meeting and gave the floor to the candidate’s election agent, Chairman of the Akhal Velayat Council of the Magtymguly Youth Organization of Turkmenistan M. Orazberdiyev. After familiarizing the audience with the work biography of the candidate for the highest state post, he described him as a highly qualified professional, a responsible and proactive leader, and an exemplary family man.

Speaking to the voters, the candidate dwelled on the main provisions in his election program, emphasizing that today, thanks to the well-considered policy being implemented under the leadership of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, Turkmenistan has become one of the rapidly developing states of the world.
