Today, a telephone conversation took place between President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
At the beginning of the conversation, the Turkmen leader warmly welcomed his Turkish colleague and noted that he was very pleased with the recovery of Recep Tayyip Erdogan and his family from the coronavirus infection.
The President of Turkmenistan also heartily congratulated the head of the friendly state on his birthday and wished him good health, prosperity and new successes in all endeavors and aspirations for the benefit and prosperity of the fraternal people of Turkey.
Sincerely thanking for the kind words of support and congratulations, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan noted with satisfaction the progressive nature of the Turkmen-Turkish cooperation, built on a solid foundation of centuries-old friendship, trust and mutual respect between the two neighboring peoples.
Expressing confidence in the continuation of the course taken by both countries to strengthen the multifaceted dialogue, for the expansion of which the most favorable conditions are being created, the interlocutors congratulated each other on a significant date - the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Turkey.
Cooperation between our countries over the past years has reached a qualitatively new level and is currently developing dynamically in a wide range of areas, the head of the Turkmen state emphasized, noting that it is based on the principles of friendship, brotherhood and equality.
Bilateral relations between Turkmenistan and Turkey are harmoniously complemented by productive interaction within the framework of international organizations. In this regard, gratitude was expressed to the Turkish leader for the continued support of international initiatives and proposals of the Turkmen side in the interests of peace and security.
Noting the positive dynamics of trade and economic ties, the interlocutors emphasized the importance of further expanding partnerships in various areas. As noted, the long-term successful activity of companies from Turkey in the territory of Turkmenistan, engaged in the implementation of infrastructure projects in the energy sector, textile industry, healthcare and other industries, contributes to the strengthening of fruitful cooperation. At the same time, it was stated that there is a huge potential for its further expansion by attracting leading Turkish enterprises interested in being active in the promising Turkmen market.
Speaking about the significant role of interaction in the humanitarian sphere, as an integral part of bilateral relations, the leaders of Turkmenistan and Turkey emphasized that the peoples of both countries share a common history, culture, spiritual values, centuries-old good traditions, which in the modern epoch acquire new content. The interlocutors also noted the presence of great potential in the field of science and education, culture and art.
During the meeting, the heads of Turkmenistan and the Republic of Turkey also exchanged views on topical issues of regional and global issues, emphasizing the intention of the parties to continue constructive partnership within the framework of authoritative international organizations. At the same time, it was noted that Turkey fully supports the policy of positive neutrality pursued by our country and the creative initiatives put forward by the Turkmen leader aimed at ensuring universal peace and progress.
President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasized the historical significance of the establishment of the Organization of Turkic States on November 12 last year, expressing confidence that this international structure will become one of the most prestigious in the world. The adoption of the decision on the entry of our country into this Organization as an observer is a welcome event, the leader of the nation noted, emphasizing that Turkmenistan is ready to take an active part in its activities and in the Council of Elders of this structure.
Also, the head of Turkmenistan announced the interest of our country in the possibility of participating as a member in the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic-Speaking Countries (TURKPA) and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Turkic countries.
At the end of the telephone conversation, Presidents Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Recep Tayyip Erdogan wished each other good health, and peace, well-being and prosperity to the friendly peoples of both countries.
