Today, with participation of heads and members of the Central Commission for Elections and Referendums, representatives of mass media a regular meeting of the Central Commission for Holding Elections and Referendums in Turkmenistan has taken place and its subject became registration of nominated initiative groups of citizens for the presidency of Turkmenistan.

In accordance with the legislation in force in the country, two contenders to the highest state post- director of the financial-economic secondary vocational school of Lebap Perkhat Begenjov and chief doctor at the Avaza sanatorium of the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan and a member of the Mejlis of the Milli Gengesh Berdimuhammet Gurbanov were registered.

All the candidates will get an equal opportunity to meet electors and to speak at the pre-election meetings as well as to appear in mass media.

For the time left until the elections, contenders to the highest state post will hold several meetings with electors, familiarize them with their election programs and give reasons for their most important points.

In their turn, electors get the right to discuss freely and in detail the political, professional and personal qualities of candidates at meetings and in the mass media. It will enable citizens, who have got familiarized themselves with each of the candidates and assessed points of election programs, to vote for the most worthy contender to the highest state post.

Registered nominees for the presidency of Turkmenistan from Lebap and Balkan regions got relevant identity cards.

Having thanked their electors for their high assessment of their activity and trust to represent them at the elections, contenders to the highest state post assured them that they would work tirelessly for further development of their fatherland, further improvement of wellbeing of Turkmen people and augmentation of the authority of Turkmenistan on the world arena.

Within the framework of the active preparation for the presidential elections in the country to be held on March 12, 2022, the meetings of the initiative groups of citizens in which the most worthy contenders to the highest state post had been nominated were also held in Akhal and Mary regions.

The meetings, which were held in the atmosphere of openness and publicity, once again testified to the opportunity stipulated by the national legislation, for our citizens to freely and fully realize their constitutional rights.

Participants of the events underlined a historical significance of the meeting of the Khalk Maslakhaty of the Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan, which has become an important event in the life of their state and society. Special attention was attached to adoption of basic documents, in particular, the Program “Revival of a new era of a powerful state: the National program of socio-economic development of Turkmenistan for 2022-2052”, as well as goals proceeding from the instructions of leader of the nation Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. The key role in implementation of tasks proceeding from the given Program and other long-term plans, is given to the younger generation of local leaders and specialists, who possess a creative thinking, wide modern knowledge and high erudition.

In the course of the interested exchange of views of participants of the meeting, which took place in Akhal region, the proposal to nominate Maksatmyrat Ovezgeldiyev, head of the sanitary and epidemiology service of Babadaykhan district of Akhal region for the highest state post was considered.

Graduated from the State Medical University named after Myrat Garryev in 2007, M.Ovezgeldiyev took an internship in the sanitary and epidemiology service of Akhal region and from 2008 to 2018, he held different executive positions at that establishment in districts of the given region. From February 2018, he has worked as head of the sanitary and epidemiology service of Babadaykhan district of Akhal region.

Having marked leadership and organizational skills of M.Ovezgeldiyev, his worthy professional and personal qualities that deserve respect, participants of the meeting adopted a decision to nominate him for the highest state post.

In his turn, Maksatmyrat Ovezgeldiyev, having thanked the present, stated that he realizes the responsibility laid upon him and will make all round efforts to justify the trust of electors.

In the meeting held in Mary region, its participants considered the proposal on nomination of director of the scientific production centre “Renewable Energy Sources “of the State Energy Institute of Turkmenistan Kakageldi Saryev for the post of the President of Turkmenistan.

In their discussion on the given issue, participants of the meeting got familiarized themselves with the biography and work activities of the candidate.

In 1999, K.Saryev graduated from the State Energy Institute of Turkmenistan and got the specialty of mechanical engineer. He started his labour activity in “Maryazot” production association. Upon completion of his military service, from 2001 he started to work as production engineer and engineer metalist at the machine building plant of Mary region and from October 2002, at different posts at the State Energy Institute.

Speakers noted the high organizational skills and professionalism of the nominee, his rich experience as well as personal qualities, responsiveness and model qualities as family man, which deserve respect.

Having underlined a weighty contribution of Kakageldi Saryev to the development of energy science, participants of the meeting supported the proposal to nominate him for the highest state post.

Wishing all the best to the contender, who takes an active part in the social, economic and cultural life of the country, the gathered pointed out that his main duty should be to take up any matter with clean heart, to glorify his brave nation and sacred fatherland on the world arena.

As speakers marked, our civil duty stipulated by the electoral right, patriotic consciousness and the sense of participation in the great deeds of the Fatherland is to show the world clearly the active life position of Turkmen nationals and to elect from among the candidates the worthiest one to the highest state post and entrust him the future fate of the country, transformations that have been started along with the public confidence.

Thus, the organizational work to prepare for the upcoming presidential elections in Turkmenistan continues. All the measures are taken to ensure the high level of this most important socio-political campaign that should become a new efficient step on the path of further democratization of Turkmen society that goes confidently on the road of creation and progressive transformations.
