Today, at the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the country took place a scientific conference «Dialogue is a guarantee of peace», timed to coincide with the Day of Diplomatic Workers of Turkmenistan.

The forum was attended by representatives of the diplomatic corps of Turkmenistan, diplomatic missions and authoritative organizations accredited in our country, the teaching staff of universities, the media, and student youth.

With deep attention, the participants listened to the Address of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, sent to diplomatic workers on the occasion of their professional holiday. The message of the leader of the nation notes that the foreign policy and diplomacy of our neutral Motherland, which are based on the principles of peace and trust, are called upon to create the necessary conditions in the international space for the implementation of long-term national programs.

In this context, high demands are placed on the country's diplomatic service to use effective tools of political, diplomatic, international legal and trade and economic consultations at the interstate and intergovernmental level.

- I am sure that our diplomatic service, based on the Program «Revival of a new era of a powerful state: the National program for the socio-economic development of Turkmenistan in 2022-2052», adopted during the recent meeting of the Halk Maslakhaty of the Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan, will take an active part in promoting our exemplary a policy calling for the improvement of human relations through guarantees of peace and security in the foreign policy strategy, as well as in further increasing the high authority of independent neutral Turkmenistan in the international arena, - emphasized in the Address of the leader of the nation.

The participants of the forum with great enthusiasm and pride perceived the news that by the Decree of the Mejlis of the Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan, the President of Turkmenistan, Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of the Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan Berdimuhamedov Gurbanguly Malikgulyevich was awarded the distinctive badge «Türkmenistanyň ussat Diplomaty».

In this regard, it was noted that thanks to the unprecedented efforts of the head of Turkmenistan, our Motherland is now widely known in the world as a state committed to mutually beneficial and equal cooperation, the principles of positive neutrality, peacefulness, goodwill and humanism. Successfully pursuing a policy of maintaining global peace, prosperity and sustainable development, our country is systematically developing productive relations with the world community, making a huge contribution to the constructive solution of urgent tasks of mankind.

In the speeches of the conference participants, it was also emphasized that the proposal of the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to promote the Global Initiative «Dialogue is a Guarantee of Peace» is aimed at uniting the efforts of all countries in strengthening the traditions of peaceful coexistence of peoples, establishing a culture of peace and trust in relationships. Based on clearly calibrated political criteria, healthy, positive pragmatism, universally recognized and understandable human values, the new philosophy acts as a significant factor influencing the positive development of international economic and political processes.

It was especially noted that the development of a culture of peace and trust in relations between states is inextricably linked with a policy of neutrality that promotes sustainable development, strengthening peace and security.

The key vector of Turkmenistan's foreign policy is to expand cooperation with the countries of the planet for the benefit of general interests and prosperity, as well as with large authoritative organizations, primarily with the United Nations. Fulfilling all the adopted bilateral and multilateral international agreements, treaties and conventions, our country fully and strictly follows its obligations, making full use of its impressive political, economic and cultural potential in the name of peace and progress.

In this context, it should be noted that the policy of neutrality is assigned a key role in the successful foreign policy activities of our country in the field of environmental protection, energy security, transport and communications, cultural and humanitarian sphere, etc. Along with this, the recognition at the level of the Community of Nations of the heritage of the Turkmen people, works and crafts created over many centuries, confirms their value for world civilization as a whole.

It was emphasized that under the leadership of the leader of the nation in the year passing under the motto «The era of the people with Arkadag», reaching new heights in the international arena. An example of this is the rapidly developing friendly, equal and mutually beneficial relations with foreign countries.

The interaction of Turkmenistan with the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, the Commonwealth of Independent States, the Non-Aligned Movement, the Organization for Economic Cooperation, the Islamic Cooperation Organization and other authoritative structures is actively increasing, where the initiatives of the head of state receive wide resonance and recognition of the world community.

The diplomatic corps of Turkmenistan, representing the interests of the Motherland at international organizations and abroad, sets as its main goal the promotion and consistent practical implementation of the initiatives of the leader of the nation, designed to contribute to the development of balanced solutions to topical issues of our time, building up a multi-vector partnership based on the principles of mutual respect, equality and constructiveness.

At the end of the conference, its participants adopted a thankful Address to President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, in which they expressed deep gratitude to the leader of the nation for his unflagging attention to the issues of improving the diplomatic service of the country, assuring that they would make every effort to further secure the interests of the Motherland in the international arena.

By tradition, on the occasion of the professional holiday, a ceremony was held to present diplomas of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to young employees of the diplomatic service and graduate students of the IIR for their active participation in the implementation of the foreign policy strategy of Turkmenistan.

The forum was complemented by a festive concert and an exhibition in the foyer of the Institute of International Relations dedicated to the Day of Diplomatic Workers of Turkmenistan.
