Today, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov has held a working meeting with participation of Deputy-Chairmen of the Cabinet of Ministers, who supervise the financial and economic sector, minister of finance and economy and heads of banks. The agenda of the meeting included topical issues of further improvement of activity of the banking complex.

The head of the state discussed key aspects of development of the given sphere and the issues faced in this area with heads of the financial and economic sector.

The first floor was given to Deputy-Chairman of the Cabinet Serdar Berdimuhamedov,  who reported on preparation of the draft of the “National Program of Socio-Economic Development of Turkmenistan for 2022-2052: Revival of the New Epoch of the Sovereign State” jointly with ministries, sectoral departments, khyakimliks of Ashgabat city and regions in accordance with the instruction of the President of Turkmenistan and with a view of its submission at the extraordinary meeting of the Khalk Maslakhaty. At present, the given work is at its final stage. 

In the meeting, the head of the state signed the Resolution to approve the composition of the Joint Turkmen-Tatar working group for trade, economic, scientific, technical and cultural cooperation aimed at further development of cooperation between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Tatarstan (Russian Federation) from the Turkmen side as well as implementation of the Agreement on trade, economic, scientific, technical and cultural cooperation between the Government of Turkmenistan and the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan.

Minister of Finance and Economy M.Serdarov reported on the state of affairs in the institutions he supervises, fulfilment of the instructions given earlier by the head of the state to increase in the volume of investments, directed to development of economy. The information on the state support provided to successful solution of goals proceeding from the National rural redevelopment program was also delivered.

Further, Chairman of the Central Bank G.Mushshikov reported on the outcome of activities for the past year and measures planned for the year 2022. Fulfilment of the instructions given earlier by the head of the state for improvement of the work of banking institutions in accordance with requirements of modernity, introduction of the latest world practice and digital system were also reported. As was informed, practical steps aimed at intensification of international cooperation in the banking sphere and financing of important projects of the country are taken.

Within the framework of the working meeting, reports of heads of banking institutions on the work for realization of the goals faced at present and large-scale transformations with a view of introduction of the advanced practice in the activity of banks were also heard. 

The head of the state stated with satisfaction that in spite of the complex situation emerged in the world, the country maintains its stable macroeconomic position. It speaks clearly of the well-balanced budget and tax policy pursued in the country and realization of which facilitates achievement of great progress.

The economic growth is ensured sufficiently at a high and stable level. This index by the outcome of the past year has made up 6,2 per cent.

The country also keeps the financial and social stability, the President of Turkmenistan said noting that effective measures are taken for combat of external factors and work for adaptation of economy to external factors is carried out. As the leader of the nation underlined, the social sphere, to be more exact, the system of social protection of population is developed, transformations in the spheres of education and healthcare continue. 

An efficient work is carried out to implement the industrialization policy of the country, in particular, manufacture of import-replacing production and increase in the volume of export-oriented goods.

This has helped maintain competitiveness of many sectors of economy and diversify foreign trade transactions, the head of Turkmenistan continued his word. 

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov also made an emphasis on the fact that dynamic paces of realization of large-scale regional and national investment projects and transformation of different branches of economy are also maintained. The leader of the nation also marked transformations made in the spheres of finance, tax and budget, monetary, foreign economic and pricing policy. 

Further, the leader of the nation set concrete tasks before institutions of the financial and economic complex.

Money should always function stable, the head of the state said. In this connection, at present, the main goal of the Central Bank and the entire banking system is to keep the balance of money in economy and to provide a regular control in this area.

One should improve the monetary policy of the country, management of financial assets, as well as ensure and rise an efficient use of loans directed to economy, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov continued his word.

The main goal of the monetary policy of Turkmenistan should be to strengthen the purchasing value of the national currency, to maintain industrial and innovative development of the country, the head of the state made an emphasis and underlined that one should provide key branches of economy, including priority spheres with enough funds. 

For enhancement of investment activity of the country, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted, one should continue to finance projects realized by small and medium size enterprises. In this regard, it is necessary to cooperate actively with international financial institutions, especially with the International Monetary Fund, World Bank Group, Asian Development Bank and other financial institutions.

The head of the state also drew attention to the significance of control over implementation of measures stipulated in the adopted national programs in the sphere of banking system and coordination of activities in the given area.

In the Strategy of actions for development of Turkmenistan for 2022-2052, it is necessary to envisage rise of quality and a range of digital banking services provided for population, the leader of the nation said.

This year practical steps for further strengthening of economic potential of the country, maintaining of high paces of economic and social development should be taken, the head of the state pointed out, drawing attention to importance of rise of budget revenues and development of market relations in economy.

The leader of the nation made a special emphasis on proper preparation for organization of the extraordinary meeting of the Khalk Maslakhaty in February, the current year. 

Having underlined that for determination of main areas of development of the independent country for the upcoming 30 years, it is necessary to develop the final draft of the “National Program of Socio-Economic Development of Turkmenistan for 2022-2052: Revival of the New Epoch of the Sovereign State”, the head of the state gave relevant authorities concrete instructions to this end.

Summing up the outcome of the working meeting, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted that new programs for development of the country will facilitate solution of issues connected with increase in the GDP volume, which in the long run, will enable to achieve rise of wellbeing and quality of social and living conditions of population and wished participants of the meeting great successes in fulfilment of the goals faced.
