On the instructions of the President of Turkmenistan, the delegation of our country headed by Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Serdar Berdimuhamedov was on a working trip in Tashkent, the capital city of the Republic of Uzbekistan, where they held meetings in order to further effectively develop interregional cooperation, discuss key areas of bilateral trade, economic, political and diplomatic collaboration.
As part of a working trip to Tashkent, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Serdar Berdimuhamedov was received by President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
The head of friendly state reaffirmed Uzbekistan’s commitment to strengthening and building up a constructive Turkmen-Uzbek dialogue based on the principles of friendship, good neighborliness and common interests, expressing deep appreciation to President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov for the huge personal contribution to the development of relations between our countries.
Emphasizing the focus on intensifying productive relations in priority areas, the meeting participants expressed confidence in the further successful development of Turkmen-Uzbek cooperation based on centuries-old friendly and good neighborly relations.
During a working trip to Tashkent the Turkmen delegation headed by Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Serdar Berdimuhamedov also met with Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan S. Umurzakov.
The parties discussed a wide range of issues related to Turkmen-Uzbek cooperation in the context of implementing the agreements reached earlier and the existing long-term prospects.
As part of the visit, a number of documents on cooperation were signed between representatives of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of our country and the business community of Uzbekistan.
A tour of the industrial and agricultural exposition of the Tashkent Technopark was organized for the Turkmen delegation, where extensive information was provided on promising high-tech projects in the relevant areas.
Thus, the working meetings held by the delegation of Turkmenistan on important areas of bilateral cooperation confirmed the existence of a solid potential for expanding effective partnership, which, thanks to the trust relations of Presidents Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Shavkat Mirziyoyev, and the progressive peace policy being pursued by the heads of friendly states, acquires new content every year.
