The International Day of Neutrality and the 26th anniversary of the adoption of the Resolution on the Permanent Neutrality of Turkmenistan by the UN General Assembly were widely celebrated with festive events today throughout the country.

On the occasion of this holiday, a celebration took place at the Reception Center, located in one of the magnificent corners of white marble Ashgabat, which has recently become a center for international events, the significance of which was magnified by the participation of Arkadag President.

The event, organized in honor of the significant date, which occupies a special place in the national calendar and has international significance, was attended by the Chairwoman of the Mejlis Milli Gengesh, Deputy Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty Milli Gengesh, Deputy Chairmen of the Cabinet of Ministers, heads of military and law enforcement agencies, ministries and sectoral departments, media, heads of foreign diplomatic missions and international organizations accredited in our country, as well as ambassadors of Turkmenistan in foreign countries.

Those gathered here warmly greeted the leader of the nation, under whose leadership our Motherland is implementing a constructive policy aimed at strengthening global peace, security and sustainable development, as well as developing international partnerships, friendly and good-neighborly relations with all interested parties.

Having greeted the participants of the celebration, Head of State Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted that he was very glad to see everyone here.

In the era of power and happiness, our holidays follow each other. Today we, having gathered together, celebrate the Day of Neutrality of Turkmenistan at a single dastarkhan, the leader of the nation continued.

We can say a lot about the status of Neutrality of our country, its significance for the Motherland, the countries of the region and all of humanity, the head of state emphasized. Turning to history, one could not a lot of evidence of the increased interest of many states in ensuring peace, stability and security.

As the President of the country noted, among the values that our people have given the world over the centuries, “heavenly” Akhal-Teke horses, magnificent carpets and brave Turkmen alabay occupy a special place.

Continuing his speech, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted the importance of the 26th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change held in November this year at the Congress Center of the Scottish city of Glasgow, where global issues of concern to the entire humanity were considered.

Speaking about the global ecology, about the fauna of the planet, we should note that a lot of work is being done in this area in our country. The Turkmen people have lived in harmony with nature for centuries. The national values created by our ancestors, especially the brave Turkmen Alabai, arose in harmony with the unique features of nature.

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov gives specific information on the courage and loyalty of the Alabay in the book “Turkmen Alabay”. In this work, the leader of the nation tells the legends about how one Alabai saved several settlements from danger.

Speaking about magnificent carpets, the leader of the nation noted that our great-grandmothers weaved them skillfully. It was a very subtle art. The traditions of carpet weaving, connecting epochs and generations for centuries, as a result of the diligence of our women and girls, have survived to this day. Currently, this art is being improved at the modern level.

Pay attention, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov continued, our great-grandmothers, taking a weaving tool in their hands, with the words “ýa bissimillah” began a pattern called “Toprak (earth)”, then moved on to the “älem (universe)” pattern. The universe is the universe in all languages. It absorbs the space between Heaven and Earth, all of humanity and the world. This has a deep meaning, which means our earthly essence. I believe that every person, regardless of nationality, should not live by faith in any sign, but with confidence in his soul, the head of Turkmenistan said.

Or, the leader of the nation continued, our great-grandmothers, daughters-in-law and girls called the following pattern “aşyjyk (alchik)”, it expresses good intentions, faith, hope. It means that in the future a boy, a brave horseman, and courageous sons will be born in one family.

Beginning with the progenitor Oguz Khan, in the past, famous Turkmen thinkers, politicians, prominent poets have left an indelible mark on history. Personalities such as Bayram Khan, Abdyrakhman Khan, Dzhelaletdin Turkmen, increased the glory of the nation. We are proud of the great deeds they have accomplished, educating our youth in the spirit of patriotism.

In the history of the Turkmen people, there were such courageous personalities as Alp Arslan, Gorogly bey, and such masters of words as Magtymguly Fraghi, Mammetveli Kemine, Gurbandurdy Zelili, Seyitnazar Seidi, who fought for the unity of the people and the power of the country using an elegant word. They demonstrated remarkable examples of service to the people and devotion to the Fatherland.

As the leader of the nation noted, together, with great festivities, we will celebrate the 300th anniversary of our outstanding national poet, great thinker of the East Makhtumkuli Fraghi, we will celebrate a big toi in honor of the classic poet. The philosophical sayings and wishes of Magtymguly Fraghi, spoken in due time, are being realized at the present time. Magtymguly’s dreams, expressed in the words “One tablecloth is spread out for a grand toi, a high fate is given to the Fatherland”, came true in the era of independence.

The year 2021 was proclaimed by the United Nations Organization and all countries as the “International Year of Peace and Confidence”, the leader of the nation continued, noting that, in turn, this year was proclaimed in our country “Turkmenistan - Homeland of Peace and Trust”. Now, December 12 is celebrated annually as International Day of Neutrality.

The head of state informed the audience that he had written a new poem “Long live, a life of peace!”

Then the celebration organized here continued with a festive concert prepared on the occasion of the 26th anniversary of the delegation of the status of Permanent Neutrality to Turkmenistan by a special resolution of the United Nations General Assembly and the International Day of Neutrality.

In their inspired speeches, cultural figures and masters of the arts sang the era of power and happiness, the country's neutrality status, which is a key factor in strengthening global peace and stability, as well as large-scale deeds carried out under the wise leadership of Arkadag-President.

The performances of the masters of the arts significantly enriched the festive event on the occasion of the International Day of Neutrality, became an event that demonstrated the happy life built by the people under the wise leadership of the leader of the nation, which our glorious ancestors dreamed of. The melodies and songs sounded were accompanied by thunderous applause, which became a high assessment of the talent of the performers.

During the concert, representatives of Turkmenistan to authoritative international organizations, heads of diplomatic missions accredited in our country, as well as creative workers, who cordially congratulated the participants of the event and the entire Turkmen people on the International Day of Neutrality, also performed at the concert. As noted, the neutral status of Turkmenistan contributes to the triumph of the policy of peace and trust, the establishment of the foundations of security, stability and progress.

A series of musical songs and congratulatory speeches further increased the significance of the festive concert.

The festive mood was also increased by the performance of the song, the author of which is Arkadag-President, who is engaged in creative work in his time free from public affairs. This work of the head of Turkmenistan, which is one of the best examples of national art, gave the audience a sea of pleasant emotions.

The song and musical performances organized here, especially the song “Dünýä dursun parahat!” Performed in the Turkmen language by masters of arts from a number of countries of the world, reflected broad support for the creative initiatives of Turkmenistan aimed at peace, good neighborliness, security and sustainable development.

Then the song “Mertebäňiz dünýä dolsun, Arkadag!” Sounded with inspiration, which became the apotheosis of the festive concert. Filled by all the participants in the celebration, it became an expression of great gratitude on behalf of the Turkmen people to Arkadag-President, who shows tireless and active concern for ensuring a happy, prosperous life and creative work of the native people.

At the end of the festive concert, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov once again congratulated everyone on this widely and solemnly celebrated significant date. As the leader of the nation emphasized, the foreign policy of Turkmenistan, based on the principles of permanent neutrality, proceeds from the possibilities of modern world development, taking into account national and universal interests.

The Turkmen people address their guests with the words: “The guest brings good,” and there is also wisdom among the people stating that “The guest is the respect of the father,” the President of Turkmenistan emphasized, continuing that the most honorable place in the house is given to the guests, and thanked the representatives of international organizations, foreign ambassadors for their participation in celebrations on the occasion of significant events in the life of the country.

In an era of power and happiness, the policy of neutrality is an unshakable basis for the country's dynamic socio-economic development, prosperous and happy life of the people, the head of state said, noting that the large-scale transformations carried out in recent years in all spheres of the economy are yielding positive results.

At the end of the speech, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, wishing everyone success, congratulated all the people with the upcoming New Year and left the place of the event.
