XV Summit of Economic Cooperation Organization started in Ashgabat

Today in the capital of Turkmenistan started the XV Summit of Economic Cooperation Organization.

Turkmenistan, being a member of ECO since 1992, hosts today’s Summit as a presidency country in this Organization. On initiative of Turkmenistan, a date of holding a regular ECO Summit was selected on 28 November, when ECO Day is celebrated.

On ECO platform, being one of the credible international structure, Turkmenistan stands for building up mutually beneficial partnership between the member states of this Organization in various fields, makes efforts to strengthen the role of ECO in the world arena.

Today’s Summit symbolically coincided with the significant date of the national calendar of Turkmenistan - the 30th anniversary of the independence of the Motherland.

On the occasion of the Summit, the country's Central Bank issued gold and silver coins in denomination of 100 manats.

The ECO Summit in Ashgabat is another confirmation of the steadily growing international authority of Turkmenistan.
