The XIV International online conference dedicated to the field of telecommunications, telemetry, information technology and broadcasting equipment “Türkmentel-2021” began its work today in the capital of our land, organized, according to the Decree of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, by the agency “Türkmenaragatnaşyk” and the Chamber of Commerce of Turkmenistan.

Modern means of communication made it possible to unite more than 300 representatives from 25 countries around the topical issues considered at this international online conference. High interest was shown not only by business circles, but also by specialists, leading scientists and experts in this field.

The long-standing and permanent partners of our country included leaders in the market of various types of communication and information technologies, such as NOKIA, HUAWEI, Thales, Afghan Wireless, Delta Telecom Ltd, Rostelecom, Eastwind, Azertelecom, etc.

Those gathered in the conference hall of the CCI, as well as foreign delegates of the forum in the teleconference mode, listened with great attention to the welcoming address of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to the participants of the international conference. As emphasized in the message of the leader of the nation, based on the world practice of high technologies and innovations, the national economy is being modernized, great success is being achieved in the social development of our independent Motherland. Bringing the structure of digital technologies, material, technical and legal base in line with the requirements of the time, deep scientific and technical reforms are being carried out in this area, large projects are being implemented.

During the plenary session, dedicated to the topics of international cooperation in the digital economy, regulation of legislation and attracting foreign investment, the leaders and representatives of the industry structures of our country, authoritative organizations, foreign companies, and businessmen made speeches.

As noted, “Türkmenaragatnaşyk” Agency, being a full member of the International Telecommunication Union, the Universal Postal Union, the Regional Commonwealth of Communications of the member states of the Commonwealth of Independent States, the GSM-Association, the Internet Corporation for the Strengthening of Numbers and Domain Names (ICANN) and other large organizations, is actively developing cooperation in this area.

Thus, in recent years, the Laws of Turkmenistan “On Communications”, “On Legal Regulation of the Development of Internet and Provision of Internet Services in Turkmenistan”, “On Information and Its Protection”, “On Cybersecurity”, “On Electronic Document, Electronic Document Management and Digital services ", etc. have been revised and adopted.

Among the significant achievements is the fact that Turkmenistan entered a number of countries engaged in space exploration by launching its first satellite TürkmenÄlem 52° E, which allows broadcasting dozens of television channels of both standard and high definition. Its payload includes the latest hardware designed to deliver a multiservice communications package.

The presence of a developed data transmission system allows us to expand the range of e-commerce and electronic document management services.

Foreign participants in the plenary session on the digital system included Houlin Zhao - Secretary General of the International Telecommunication Union, Nurudin Mukhitdinov - Director General of the Regional Commonwealth of Communications (RPC), J.P. Takala - Technical Director in the Eastern Europe and Central Asia region, Zhao Lei - President of CNBG Huawei Eurasia, etc.

Speeches were also heard on the potential of using remote sensing data and geoinformation technologies in the study of natural objects, monitoring the earth's surface in the interests of national development, etc.

Reports were made on the role of Turkmenistan as a new operator of satellite communications in Central Asia, and the issues of developing international cooperation in this direction were considered.

Foreign participants of the forum confirmed their readiness for broad partnership with Turkmen colleagues, noting the presence of modern industrial infrastructure, opportunities and conditions for innovation in our country, created due to constant support and attention of the head of state Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

Tomorrow, the XIV international online conference “Türkmentel-2021” will continue its work. Within its framework, two sessions will be held - “Fixed and mobile communications: building a single national communications network. Innovation - Cloud Technologies - 5G” and “Information Security in the Age of Digital Transformation”. At the end of the forum, it is planned to hold an award ceremony for winners of the competition for innovative projects “Digital Solution – 2021”.
