Today, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov has convened a regular session of the Cabinet of Ministers via digital means to consider priority aspects of state policy and some important draft documents.

Addressing the session agenda, the head of Turkmenistan gave the floor to Cabinet Deputy Chairman G. Mushshikov to report on the ongoing efforts to strengthen the effective collaboration with international financial institutions.

In his turn, Cabinet Deputy Chairman Sh. Abdrakhmanov informed about the seismic operations being conducted by the Türkmengeologiýa State Corporation to discover new oil deposits.

Most black gold is now being extracted from fields in the Pre-Balkan area in Western Turkmenistan. The State Corporation is set to carry out additional seismic exploration in this petroliferous region, including 3D surveys in the eastern part of the Goturdepe field, and 2D surveys in the Southern Burun field. International bids have been invited for the above-said operations and a winning bidder has been selected.

Next speaker, Cabinet Deputy Chairman E. Orazgeldiev centered his report on the continuing efforts in the field of environmental protection and the state environmental policy implementation. A draft Resolution ‘On Approving the 2021-2025 National Forest Program of Turkmenistan’ was presented for consideration by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

After signing the within-said Resolution, the head of state submitted it digitally to the Vice-Premier and gave a number of concrete assignments on its implementation.

In his report, Cabinet Deputy Chairman Sh. Durdylyev covered the state of affairs in the sectors directly managed by him, and the measures being taken to draft regulations on the use of drinking water distribution systems and water drainage facilities in Turkmenistan.

Cabinet Deputy Chairman B. Ovezov focused his report on the steps being taken by the Türkmenaragatnaşyk Agency to modernize Internet services as the country has seen a progressive increase in the number of users. The Internet is also actively used by local enterprises, private businesses and higher education institutions.

Given this, the Türkmenaragatnaşyk Agency invited international bids.

Focusing on the issues of the communications industry’s digital transformation, the nation’s leader noted that our country had launched large projects aimed to build a comprehensive communications system based on advanced technology, to expand the scope and range of services and to improve their quality, as well as to offer customers broadband Internet access.

Then, Cabinet Deputy Chairperson M. Mammedova delivered a report on cultural events and opening ceremonies of socio-cultural facilities to be held in July.

Addressing Vice-premier M. Mammedova and the Cabinet Deputies Chairman responsible for the velayats, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov pointed out that the impressive multi-purpose Türkmeniň Ak Öýleri buildings are due for completion in all the regions this year. As the leader of nation highlighted, the edifices are intended to preserve and promote the nation’s cultural traditions, and to meet social needs. The Türkmeniň Ak Öýleri buildings have an important role to play in supporting amateur talent groups and other creative initiatives, encouraging social activity of citizens and offering them a host of leisure pursuits.

A draft National Strategy for the Prevention and Control of Non-Communicable Diseases for 2021-2025 was in the center of the report made by Cabinet Deputy Chairman M. Geldinyyazov.

In the epoch of power and happiness, integrated efforts are being made to protect the nation’s general health, to render a wider spectrum of medical services up to international standards, and to actively adopt new world scientific developments in applied medicine.

Then, the President of Turkmenistan invited Cabinet Deputy Chairman, Minister of Foreign Affairs R. Meredov and Minister of Energy Ch. Purchekov to present their reports.

The Vice-Premier, Foreign Minister reported on the preparations for an official visit by President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov to our country on June 27-28.

Turkmenistan and the Kyrgyz Republic are actively cooperating within authoritative international and regional organizations, while mutually supporting each other.

The preparations for the official visit by the President of Kyrgyzstan and the events to be held as part of it were the key issues the report made by Minister of Energy Ch. Purchekov (who is the co-Chairman of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Kyrgyz Commission for Trade-Economic, Scientific-Technological and Humanitarian Cooperation from the Turkmen side) was centered on.

Speaking of prospects for the Turkmen-Kyrgyz cooperation, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov recognized the considerable potential for boosting the productive trade-economic relations. A steady growth in bilateral trade turnover offers ample testimony to this, as well.

Stressing the importance of the upcoming summit talks in Ashgabat, the head of state made some amendments to the submitted Program, and assigned the Vice-Premier, Foreign Minister, and the Minister of Energy, who is the co-Chairman of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Kyrgyz Commission, to ensure a high degree of organization and preparedness for the official visit by the President of the Kyrgyz Republic to Turkmenistan.
