The solemn ceremony of awarding the winners of the scientific works competition among the youth of Turkmenistan, traditionally held to commemorate the Day of Science by the Academy of Sciences and the Central Council of the Makhtumkuli Youth Organization, was held today in the conference hall of the Oguz Khan Engineering and Technological University.

The state review, established by President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, is designed to promote the development of national science, strengthen its role in the life of modern society, form a new generation of scientists, and stimulate their research activities in the most important, most demanded areas.

Young talents are annually invited to participate in the national intellectual competition - employees of research institutes, industrial associations, scientific and technical enterprises, teachers and students of universities, students of secondary specialized educational institutions, as well as young Turkmen citizens of any profession who show an increased interest and desire for active scientific activity.

The training of specialists with non-standard thinking is one of the main goals of domestic science and education. Fundamental reforms today are aimed at ensuring strategic national interests, achieving new frontiers of intensive economic development.

The country creates all the necessary conditions for scientific research, new discoveries, the introduction of advanced scientific achievements and technologies. As the leader of the nation invariably emphasizes, young scientists - defining force, that powerful intellectual potential that works for the future of the country, its authority in the world.

Thanks to the care of the state, the number of participants in the prestigious intellectual competition is growing every year. So, this year, passing under the motto "Turkmenistan is the Motherland of Peace and Trust", 1053 people - young scientists and students - took part in it. Prizes were taken by 57 winners.

The future luminaries of Turkmen science became the main characters of the big holiday that took place today.

With great enthusiasm, the audience listened to the congratulatory Address of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov sent to the laureates of the scientific competition, in which the leader of the nation emphasized the importance of the successes and achievements of young scientists in priority fields of science, their scientific discoveries for the further development and prosperity of our Motherland.

The winners of the youth scientific competition were presented with honorary diplomas and valuable gifts on behalf of the head of state.

The laureates of the intellectual competition addressed the leader of the nation with words of sincere gratitude for the utmost care for the young generation, assuring that with their tireless, selfless work they will serve to increase the authority and glory of their native Motherland.

The works of the winners of the current competition can be found in detail in the collection "Steps in Science of Young Scientists of a Happy Epoch", traditionally published by the Central Council of the Youth Organization named after Makhtumkuli.

The ceremony participants accepted a letter of gratitude to President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

The solemn event ended with a holiday concert.
