A delegation of Turkmenistan headed by Cabinet Deputy Chairman, Supreme Control Chamber Chairman Serdar Berdimuhamedov, which was on a working visit to the United Arab Emirates on June 9-11 on the instructions of the Esteemed President, was warmly met at the international airport in Abu Dhabi by the officials of the United Arab Emirates. During the brief conversation at the airport, it was noted that due to the consistent efforts of the Heads of State of Turkmenistan and the United Arab Emirates, relations between the two countries in various fields have been strengthening.
The current visit is also aimed at promotion of further expansion of existing relationship. on June 10th, the Turkmen delegation met with Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Presidential Affairs of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Mansur bin Zayed Al Nahayan as part of the working visit. During the meeting, the sides stressed the importance of the visit in terms of further expansion of cooperation in the fields of energy, transport, investment, agriculture and other sectors.
The interest of businessmen of the United Arab Emirates in strengthening its activities in the promising Turkmen market is growing. This is connected with far-sighted investment policy pursued by the Esteemed President and package of reforms and programs aimed at creation of a modern industrial structure diversified on the basis of industrialization and the introduction of advanced technologies and developments in our country.
In this regard, the official visits of the leader of nation to the UAE and the President of United Arab Emirates to Turkmenistan in recent years have been an important step towards the sustainable development of bilateral cooperation. The parties also stressed the importance of the EXPO International Exhibition, which is planned to be held in Dubai, including the active participation of the Turkmen side.
Then a meeting of the Government delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister Serdar Berdimuhamedov with Director General of Development Fund of Abu Dhabi Mohammed Saif Al Suwaidi was held. The parties noted that Turkmen-Emirate relations were intensifying. This is reflected in the bilateral documents signed between the Government of Turkmenistan and the Abu Dhabi Development Fund in February this year, which have given a strong impetus to the development of trade, economic and investment relations.
As is known, the investment policy of our country, pursued by the Esteemed President, is based on the availability of huge natural resources, the geographical location and transit potential of our state. At the same time, the opportunities for the introduction of solar and wind energy technologies and the attraction of investment funds are prioritized. At the same time, special attention is paid to the practical implementation of the latest scientific achievements of our time. During this working visit of the Government Delegation of our country, a wide range of discussions on these issues were held. Therefore, a number of relevant issues were discussed at the meeting with the head of the Abu Dhabi Development Fund.
During the meeting, the parties discussed specific steps for projects planned to be implemented in Turkmenistan in the fields of gas chemistry, finance and transport. Following the meeting, a number of bilateral documents regulating the implementation of joint projects were signed.
The Turkmen delegation also met with Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Armed Forces of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Mohammed ben Zayed Al Nahayan.
During the meeting, the sides noted with satisfaction that the political interaction based on the principles of high-level consistency and trust promotes the consistent development of Turkmen-Emirate cooperation. Noting that there are huge opportunities for expanding fruitful economic and business cooperation, the parties expressed confidence in the success of the traditionally fruitful relations between Turkmenistan and the UAE.
As the interlocutors noted, the relations are aimed at reforming and modernizing the socio-cultural and urban infrastructure and have a clear foundation in the context of large-scale construction projects in Turkmenistan. The power of relations allows us to expand fruitful relations in various fields, including investment, fuel and energy, transport and communications, the processing industry and other areas.
According to them, it is also important to develop the traditional cultural relations, to integrate efforts in the field of education, science and culture. It was stated that the parties are interested in further strengthening of bilateral cooperation, especially in trade, economic and investment spheres. At the end of the meeting, the parties wished each other happiness, prosperity and welfare.
During the visit, the Turkmen delegation held negotiations with Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Abdullah ben Zayed Al Nahayan.
The sides highly assessed the level of bilateral relations in the political-diplomatic, trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian spheres between Turkmenistan and the UAE, as well as exchanged opinions on topical issues of the international and regional agendas. The parties also noted the active interaction within the framework of authoritative international structures.
Thus, on the instructions of the Esteemed President, the working visit of the Government of Turkmenistan to the United Arab Emirates has come to an end. The visit of the Turkmen government delegation led by Cabinet Deputy Chairman, Supreme Control Chamber Chairman Serdar Berdimuhamedov to this friendly country was marked by success.
