Mayors of friendly cities and sister cities of Ashgabat take part in online meeting

The international videoconference meeting between the mayors of friendly cities and sister cities of Ashgabat, hosted by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan was dedicated to the 140th anniversary of Ashgabat.

According to representatives of the Turkmen side, it is symbolic that the conference was organized on the eve of glorious dates, including the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's independence. Our country consistently implements a foreign policy based on the status of positive neutrality, which is aimed at developing constructive international cooperation for the public good.

As noted, Ashgabat has established friendly relations with various cities and regions of the world countries that contributed to significant intensification of fruitful cooperation with foreign partners. Today, there are all the prerequisites for building up multifaceted cooperation and productive exchange of experience. In this regard, gratitude was expressed to foreign colleagues for participating in the forum, aimed at offering a new impetus to further friendly partnership, making twin cities and their residents closer to each other, and strengthening traditional relations of mutual understanding and trust.

A video clip, telling about Ashgabat, its achievements at the present stage of history was demonstrated during the meeting.

Setting the pace of the grandiose transformations taken place in the country, Ashgabat stands as a visible symbol of the ongoing progressive changes in the Fatherland.

Among those speaking during the forum were the heads and representatives of administrations, municipal and other relevant structures of friendly cities and sister cities of Ashgabat. The geography of foreign participants in the conference is impressive: Kabul (the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan), Baku (Republic of Azerbaijan), Albuquerque (the United States of America), Beijing and Lanzhou (the People's Republic of China), Tendo (Japan), Ankara and Istanbul (Republic of Turkey), Tashkent (Republic of Uzbekistan), Nur-Sultan (Republic of Kazakhstan), Bishkek (Kyrgyz Republic), Moscow, St. Petersburg and Astrakhan region (Russian Federation), Vienna (Austrian Republic), Chisinau (Republic of Moldova), Yerevan (Republic of Armenia).

Congratulating President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, as well as all Turkmen citizens on the 140th anniversary of Ashgabat, conference participants emphasized the significant role of our capital as a recognized center of peacekeeping, its contribution to the intensification of international cooperation.

At the end of the International Conference, participants expressed gratitude to the President of Turkmenistan for the support provided in the development of fruitful regional and international relations, and wished the President of Turkmenistan new outstanding successes in his versatile activities.
