The meeting of Vice-premier, Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov and Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Chairman of the Supreme Control Chamber of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov with member of the State Council of the PRC, Foreign Minister Wang Yi has been held under the visit of the government delegation of Turkmenistan to the People’s Republic of China in Xian on May 10.
During the meeting, the sides have noted high level of political dialog between two countries and expressed interest in expansion of Turkmen – Chinese cooperation in wide range of directions.
Greeting the guests, Wang Yi has confirmed the willingness to activate constructive Turkmen – Chinese partnership, having highlighted that the PRC supports foreign policy of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and his important international initiatives. In this regard, Chinese diplomat congratulated Turkmen delegation on the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s independence, having addressed the best wishes to the people of friendly country.
During the talks, the sides have discussed the main aspects of international and regional agenda as well as number of matters, which present mutual interest, including provision of international information and biological security.
Being a co-chairman of Intergovernmental Turkmen – Chinese Committee for cooperation, Serdar Berdimuhamedov specified priority directions of cooperation between two countries, including gas sphere, financial and investment partnership and healthcare.
The sides have exchanged the views on development of cooperation in transport, communication, trade and other spheres and spoken for steadfast development of cultural and humanitarian cooperation.
Bilateral meetings of the members of Turkmen delegation with representatives of relative ministries and departments of the PRC have also taken place.
