Representative office of the UN Children Fund (UNICEF) together with the European Regional Bureau of the World Health Organization and the country office have conducted online briefing dedicated to capabilities of mass media in combating infectious diseases and popularization of healthy life style.
Representatives of national TV and radio channels, printing and electronic media, Ministry of Health Protection and Medical Industry and personnel of health care departments of the regions and Ashgabat took part in the meeting.
Current event was held for the fourth time and is a part of Turkmenistan’s National Infectious Disease Preparedness and Response Plan.
Representative of the UNICEF in Turkmenistan Mrs. Christine Weigand has highlighted that current meeting gives opportunity not only to analyze the implementation of the Plan, which was approved by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and meeting international standards, but also to enforce efficient propaganda of the prevention measures, especially vaccination of the population during COVID-19 pandemics.
Representative of the World Health Organization has shared new information about COVID-19 pandemic and vaccination highlighting that international cooperation is succesfull developed in Turkmenistan together with work for improvement of quality of medical services provided to the population, programs of health protection, including immunization, are implemented.
During the webinar, the participants learned about advanced world practice in highlighting the above-mentioned subject. In particular, the information about available COVID-19 vaccines, stages of preparation of the population for the vaccination has been presented.
